USTA League Playing Both Single and Double

My team is playing USTA league, and usually we need 8 players to complete in 2 singles and 3 doubles. We only have 7 people this week. Can we have one of single player to play a double match, so he will play two matches on that day.

If what you ask was allowed theoretically you could play a match with only two players although it would probably take a couple of days to play the five matches.
