It was a treat to see the mixed doubles final from courtside!
I was amazed at how well the young ladies could keep up with the guys. I'd put them in the same category as a 5.0-5.5 guy (Robinson was the better of the two). The ladies got into a couple of long cross court rallies FH to FH and the pace and spin they were generating was amazing. They were hitting so hard the guys could not step in to poach the shots (they tried unsuccessfully many times).
Anyone heard of the girls: one is a freshman who plays for Notre Dame (from Fallbrook HS) and the other is currently a HS player at Laguna Hills. Monica Robinson (ND) and Alexandra Valenstein (LHHS)
They also played one another in the women's singles final with Robinson winning.
