USTA summer league lines order of play important!

We have a match tonight and the opponents have only two courts at a time. The opponent captain want to play doubles #1 and doubles #2 first, then singles #1 and #2 and last doubles #3. We don't agree with this. Is it ok for the opposite capt to do this? Or it should it be single #1, doubles #1 then single #2 and doubles #2 and last doubles #3? We play in Houston but can't find the scheduling rules at the usta site.

Thanks.

What difference does it make?

The opponent knows our singles has to do a long drive to get to the match and is doing this just to mess with us. And also is the first time i see this scheduling in 5 yrs of playing usta league. Just want to know if there is a basic ruling for the order of play?

Don't think there's a league rule governing this situation. Up to host captain then. Just make sure all your players show up on time as well as their players. They could be trying to avoid a default on one of the matches, which is why they proposed this schedule.

Your could also bring a deck of cards and pull out 5 cards Ace-5 of the same suite. Assign match Singles #1 to Ace, Singles #2 to Deuce, card 3 get Doubles #1, card 4 get Doubles #2 and card 5 get Doubles #3. But you do this when all the players are there.

At least in Atlanta they say that the order of play would be 1D and 1S starting out with the other lines to follow. They say that captains may AGREE to change the order. I'd go ahead and call your league coordinator to find out since the website looks to be a mess.

Here is the best I could find on the Houston website. THis is for North Houston as it looks like htats the league that would have thursday night matches.

* 2 Courts Available

Both Singles play at 9:00am or 7:00 pm (or earlier if agreed on by both Captains)

Order of doubles lines to follow is at the discretion of the Home Captain but the Visiting Captain must be given notice when contact is made 4 days in advance. The first two lines of doubles to be played are considered to be playing at the Second Start Time. The final doubles line is considered to be playing at the Third Start Time.
