Is anyone's national ranking lower at tennisrecruiting.net than with USTA national standings?
This is because the USTA rankings are diluted with doubles wins.
I know a kid who is ranked about 130 with tennisrecruiting.net and about 600 with USTA. I've heard some of the explanations, but the difference is so bizarre that it makes one wonder about the rankings.
When a potential sponsor has a required national ranking of 150, I assume they are refering to the USTA standings. Right?
Yes they are talking about USTA. The two ranking systems are independent of each other. TRN is by class not age group hence the large differences. If you are a 14 almost 15 year old freshman you could be 150 in TRN but just starting 16s so maybe 600 USTA 16s. It makes perfect sense because USTA age groups consist of more then one class. That's why there is a difference
currently mine are exactly the same now. 140 and 140 lol
