V14 the end of pro staff?

I love my Pro Staff v13 from Wilson Pro Labs. They have similar finish as v14 (not rubbery as retail version).
But most important - they play absolutely fantastic - solid, stable, comfortable and relatively forgiving having decent sweetspot.

Just put on leather grip and they are good to go.

My favorite ps97 cosmetic. Is the pro labs version the same as the standard v13?

Did you order these directly from Wilson?

I never played with retail PS97 v13 but these ones play so solid and so comfortable.
I have them 330g strung with leather grip and 31.5cm balance. BH Slice just a dream.

Well if you don't like seeing dumb people post dumb stuff you are on the wrong website.

Unfortunately most of the other websites also have dumb people posting dumb stuff.

But some of them have boobs in addition to dumb stuff which some might consider a worthwhile trade.

Good luck soldier.

lol it’s fair dude. Sometimes I just like to shout get off my lawn into the ether

Yup still use a v14 - 365g 370SW. No better war hammer on the market

Have historically used mainly 6.1 95s & RF97 but also dabbled with PS90
You might crash the ball :)
I used to play PS Tour 90 in 2003 as huge fan of Roger. And did so until 2009. So my muscle memory is full of PS feel (I also play PS 6.1 95 for a quite some time). I love PS 97 series. This is what PS should be for a modern game style. Great adjustment from Wilson.

Yes, I'm not sure why people keep saying Pro Staff 97 is not suited to 'modern game' or is a 'control racquet'. It's basically a Pure Aero VS. Open 16x19 pattern, big sweet-spot, medium-stiff flex. It's incredibly easy to play with and I don't understand why more young players don't use it.
Too heavy for them to wipe and get extra spin.
You put on a leather grip (as it should be already in stock form IMHO) and you nail the 325g notch, unstrung.
Same problem with the Prestige Pro.

The V14 does it for me on the consistency level. Never played more consistent with any other racket. Although I need to put in the work (read: practice hours) though. But the slice on that thing can neutralize those topspin wipers from these youngster. And when that shot falls away by them, it is smooth sailing for me to the finish.

Pro Staff
Dunlop CX
Pro Kennex Q Tour
Yonex Percept
Artengo Control Tour
Volkl C 10 Pro
Head Pro Tour and Prestige
Prince Phantoms
TF 40
Pure Storm - sorely missed from their inventory
All of these frame are of box beam nature ( or there of) and they still feel the best with great touch and control, they are the most comfortable on your arm and make tennis a pleasure to play,

I used the RF97 in 2015 when that first iteration came out. Didn't like it. Was a chore to use.

Recently was loaned a V13 with added lead tape on it from the pro player I've coached for years. Man what a stick!

Found an RF97 V13 in my grip size (L2) and I've been using it when I got back home. I never thought I'd leave the Babs Pure Strike VS setup that I've been using a few years now, since the mid 2010's Pure Control Tour re-release was my favorite stick. But man this RF97 v13 with lead tape to make it 360 SW is amazing.

Shots go exactly where I want, and my hitting partners have commented how much heavier my shots are now and just jumping off the court.

Been trying to find more V13 as I always loved the black PJ, but used they're so damn expensive. I just want 1-2 extra sticks to rotate in with mine.

How are you finding it serving with the RF weighted up? You need to have a pretty strong shoulder - mine's a little effed from a couple of operations and I struggle to serve with the RF even though i'm good with it otherwise (apart fromt the ovehead)
I experimented by actually attempted to reduce the weight of the RF by putting Kevlar 1.10 / Zyex in it and it brought it down to a static weight of 352g which is way more manageable for me. My PS97 V14 sits at 350g, so it's in the same ballpark.

One of the reasons I didn't like the OG RF97 (red-black) was it was a pain on my shoulder to serve. And spinning the ball with a bit wrist on groundies when I needed was painful.

The Pure Storm Tour/Pure Control Tour and Pure Strike VS+lead have been way easier for me to serve, but with groundies the V13 at 360g has been for hwatever reason easier for me to get plow. Granted, my strokes are more refined and probably better in 2025 than 2015, even though I was 25 then and 35 now.

I just started serving the last week or two with this racquet. And I've been using less shoulder and letting the racquet do the work. Rather than serve like my baseball days (just using a lot of shoulder torque to throw the ball). I've been trying to use more legs, and use a less whippier serving motion (I'm only 5"7), and I noticed my serves against my regular hitting partners, they're having difficulty returning it perhaps because the ball is heavier than I think it is coming off the racquet, because of the heavier weight. With the Babs, I can zoom the ball and get good serves. Maybe I'm getting a bit more MPH but not as heavy of a serve with the Babs, whereas with the V13 I'm getting less MPH but heavier weight of ball on the serve.

370sw? How is that possible? I know one million 5.0+ players at my club and no one is using anything but stock racquets. The game is different now…

Just because it says 6.1 doesn’t mean that is what it will do to your rating!

EVERY thread somehow comes back to Sureshs…

They should show his vid as you enter!!! Amazing tennis. The announcer even says so

As timeless as Roger Federer's game. Not too late for Rolex to add him in to their timeless marketing campaign. I just saw one of their masterful new ads earlier of some lady singing acapella the Good Bad Ugly Eastwood theme, and showing all the Rolex athletes in distress/losing only for them to turn the clock and dominate. Had Alcaraz, Fed, Tiger, Swiatek and other athletes/celebs in the ad too.

Found it:

Imagine adding the starpower of suresh in this

I have the whole vid along with my will to play it at the funeral. Going to go out in style

He's so strong, that he didn't even have to follow through on the buggy whip, yet created such a high RPM rainbow of a shot, that his opponent was outclassed and overmatched by the weight of shot.

And it was a 400sw! They called his opponent cheetah and even he couldn’t move fast enough.

He even serves like Marion Bartoli! I did a side by side. But it was more about the boobs than the service motion. Amazing.
