LOL Mayer had 3 breakpoints on Murray's serve and completely choked them away

I hope Davy takes the pusher to the woodshed :)

What is murray blaming his forehands on, he keeps pointing at the ground and saying 'bounce'.

Something to do with the surface, does anyone know what it is? Commentators said something about it being a surface "the players don't get to practice alot on, so it takes time getting used to".

Anyone?

First time I see this Mayer play. He has a really entertaining game!

Agreed! Gave Murray trouble from time to time. Alot more entertaining player than Murray in my opinion, although Murray produces some sick shots from time to time.

Nice play from Mayer

and... nice pushing from Murry

.... oh jeez, I fully forgot that he cheers "cmon" on opponents unforced errors and complains about random things on the court like a little baby

He really does that man. Cmon you just screwed up. ahahahahahaha

haha mayer up 4-0 in the 2nd!!!!

it's also the first time i've seen him play. i think. i might've seen him play during the davis cup in july but i forgot about his playing style completely if i did. enjoying this match. hope leonardo takes it in 3 . . . before i go to class in an hour . . .

Mayer is proving exactly how much of a pusher Murray is by killing him with some S&V, All-court tennis, and aggressive baseline tennis.

Only problem is that Mayer's consistency is questionable, but he's doing quite well right now. The first set was a mental drop from Mayer, as he had 3 BP's to get the break back but couldn't and Murray closed out the first set.

5-0 for Mayer

Mayer is playing a very "French" style... a mix of baseline and classic net game, it's nice to see.

Murray, is a pusher so that's never nice to see.

:)

Why haven't I seen this fella before? This is really entertaining tennis!

can the players not challenge in valencia? i haven't seen not one challenge yet in the parts of matches i've watched, and it just seems unusual for me . . .

Omg so Murray is still pushing?? Thought he would have worked on his offensive game since he hasnt played since he got steamrolled by Cilic...
0-5 ?? Seriously?

He's not exactly the most consistent of players, but I agree that his style is entertaining.

And he's got a good attitude, too!

I've not seen too much of him, myself, but he's one of those Argentines who prefers hardcourts (like Delpo and Nalby) rather than claycourts, although he's excellent on clay, too.

--- Mayer down 3 BPs, what's happening here?

Murray? Offensive Game?

Yeak I know but he must do something to his game he is spending wayyy to much energy vs clowns in early rounds therefore when its time for business he gets ousted, like Verdasco in AO, Roddick in Wimby, and Cilic in USO.

Honestly, the dude's getting worse and worse. He's digging the "pusher" hole deeper and deeper. IMO, his best tennis this season was in the period between Indian Wells and Madrid, he was doing OK... but when the grass season started he just fully became mr. pusher extraordinaire!

He's just lucky most of the clowns he plays in the early rounds are just that, clowns.

Mayer's not a clown, but..... we all see what's happening right now (he's going to choke a 5-0 lead away)

5-3

Hope he proves me wrong and serves out the set

Im prepared to agree about Murrays level.
Well if Mayer chokes this away he is THE clown! This is the ATP-tour, not the WTA-tour.

Obviously Murray isn't a pusher, that's just purile internet nonsense, but it is annoying the way he whines all the time about the court, or line calls or whatever else he isn't happy with. Just get on with it.

Ok, he's not actually a pusher through and trough (not like in the tennis clubs), BUT he does have many, many pusher tendencies when we all know he can play more aggressive and assert himself in points rather than being so passive all the time.

I don't know, maybe he can't. Maybe this is the best he can do.

His attitude doesn't help, however. Too whiny, I agree.

Live scoreboard doesnt seem to be working; it's still showing Lopez/Robredo 3 all in the third! :D

Looks as tho Andy's still rusty. Either that or Leo's playing a good match. Leo holds serve for 1 all in the third ....... first set went to Andy 6-4, second set went to Leo 6-3

andy holds, on serve 2-1

Haha, Murray gets so pissed. Not much of a gentleman out there is he? Holds for 3-2.

I would like to see Fed play Mayer.

uh oh. bit of a loose service game by Leo to go down a break 2-4

I kinda dont think Andy's gonna let him get back in it

but he might get back anyway! :D

Andy serving 15 all, now 30-15 with a 197 KPH serve! :)

Andy consolidates 5-2.
Leo serving to stay in the match.

Leo holds to love 3-5

Andy serving for the match 30 all now.

got that right!

what a point by Leo to take it to deuce!

Actually, I was talking about the point to go up 0-30 I think but the way he saved the first 2 MPs was nice too!

I'm looking forward to see him play again. He's still young and considering his style of play I don't think he has reached his prime yet.

Either way, that third set was the best set I've seen in quite a while! :)

Murray wasn't at his best but he is still working his way back into the groove after a long layoff.

Mayer impressed me.

Montanes and Ferrer w/o not sure for who yet. I presume for Ferrer given Montanes' horrific recored against him

according to the atp website, it's montanes who's progressing to the next round ......... but anyway albert doesn't seem the type to avoid a fight! does he? He has won a tourny or two this year!
