Blinkism

Murray wasn't at his best but he is still working his way back into the groove after a long layoff.

Oh, I agree!

He could have pushed much, much more! Definitely didn't spend enough time playing passively...

And I felt like he didn't yell "c'mon" at opponent's unforced errors enough. And he didn't look annoyed or bratty the entire time.

Definitely not 100%

Get it all out blink - you'll fell better for it. You must be spewin after Mayer blew yours and his big chance.

Nevermind - you can root for Montanes tomorrow.

Vamos Albert!

Two straight days of disappointments, batz.

Can Montanes redeem my faith in all that is good and pure in the world?

Not likely...

*sigh* vamos albert......

I think he might you know - I don't think Murray will win this tournament. If not Berty then Verdasco.

In all seriousness, though, I'd put Davydenko as the favorite for this tournament.

Verdasco? I can't see it, but maybe he'll hit a hot streak and beat Murray and whoever the finalist is.

Not likely, methinks.

And I'd probably agree with you.

mayer lost???? :( i had to leave for class at 1 all in the 3rd. and he was doing so well!!! save for choking away 3 games at the end of the 2nd he really played superb. absolutely looking forward to him playing again soon, he really impressed me. had so much fun watching the little i got to watch. is he playing in paris??? does anybody know??

also nobody answered my question about challenges. is nobody challenging in valencia or are the players just not able to? i thought all tournaments needed to have hawkeye set up, save for clay court tourneys . . . but i could be wrong, i just assumed yanno

that's apparently when I started watching at 5 love in the second. Then murray managed to win 3 games before mayer took the second 6-3. I was disappointed when mayer's UEs started increasing. otoh, it would have been quite an upset if mayer had managed to take the match.

never heard anything about tournaments being required to have hawkeye installed. it's extremely expensive, and it's a computer approximation, not reality. plus it is subject to the GIGO (garbage in, garbage out) factor to which all human endeavors are subject. Personally, I'd prefer the use of the super slow motion cameras that can show where the ball, itself, has hit, rather than a computer image of a ball hitting a computer image of a line! :p

as far as valencia, itself, I havent seen enough matches to know whether or not it offers player challenge system. I do know that neither Lyon nor Vienna had a 'hawkeye' type system available.

verdasco is going to take out the english vamoosinator. :) That's going to be a good match when it happens.

Leo took Murray to 3? Good effort from him, he's had a few disappointing performances of late so it's good to see him pushing top quality players again

Youzhny continues to be a bad matchup for Simon. Down a set at the moment. And he just couldn't convert on four break points before a lady fainted.

Well, hopefully he gets over his Youzhny problems.

Muzza has just walked on court in his trackie bottoms, probably making a snidey point about at the temperature in the building.

Less whining from him today hopefully.

According to the commentator Montanes is something of a 'journeyman pro', which is a polite way of saying his is a bit sh**.

Muzza 2 -0 up now trying to break Montanes again, also, Montanes has an odd serve, very low ball toss, it's a bit 'journeyman'.

Muzza 3-0 up in the second, this could be a bagel or a grissini set perhaps.

fromsport freedocast working well btw.

several of the spanish players have relatively low ball tossses ........ wonder how the spanish in the valencia cathedral feel when they look over and see their countryman corretja cheering "vamos" for murray?

muzzman up the double break 4 love

5-1 to Muzza now.

Re the Spanish, they can count Murray as a sort of honorary Spaniard, he trained over there and not so much in the UK I think.

Davy continues to have a good year. Onwards to the semis. He can gain a lot of points early next season as well.

Bloodshed

Murray crushed him earlier this year when they played on hard courts, and even beat him in straight sets on clay.

Yeah but Davydenko played one of his worst matches vs Murray in Montreal. Like we're talking like a dozen of winners and 40+ UE. And the Clay Match (although it shouldn't be used as an excuse) it was when Davydenko was playing his first tournament aof the year so he might of had some rust back then.

Nonetheless if they are both playing their very best, you have to give the edge of Davydenko.
