Verdasco should have won the first set......he gave it away too easily. Then he looked a bit tired in the final set. It is pretty tiring to be the aggressive player all the time. Takes a lot effort out of you.

Yep - becasue the way murray plays has no effect on his opponent's performance - it's not like he forces them into playing shots they don't want to play from positions they don't want to be in - Murray never does that. All he does is push push push - like a park player - then the tennis faeries come along and give him the 'W' - it just ain't right man. I just don't understand it. What he should be doing is hitting every ball as hard as he can from the baseline - tennis needs more of those types of players; they're pretty thin on the ground.

How thick are these top players not knowing how to beat a pusher.
How dare they let a pusher get to No2 in the world, get to semis and finals of Slams and win lots of Masters Series events.
Absolute disgrace, embarrassment and bad for tennis this is.
I think I'm going to write a letter to someone in protest, have sleepless nights, let this affect my moods and life until the evil pusher man has been banned and sentenced to 50 lashes for damage to tennis and countless millions mental health.

Welcome back champ, first tournament since his injury and he wins a title. Hope to see more of this next year with one or two slam titles as well. :)

strange indeed, because he could have got a SE (special exempt) as he was in the final of a masters 500 the week before a masters 1000.
A qualified event for special exempt to a ATP World Tour Masters 1000 tournament is the singles event of another ATP World Tour Masters 1000 or ATP World Tour 500 tournament.

but he didn't enter the qualification draw... so he didn't get it.
 
I didn't see the match, but I LOL'ed at one line in one Spanish newspaper chronicle: "never anyone won so quick playing so slow".

I genuinely like what Murray brings to the table, diversity is great. He can be infuriatingly passive sometimes, but all the top players annoy me in some way or another, so all is cool :-P
