Vantage BC30

I've hit with one of these before, however, it was extended length and leaded up. Because I'll be hitting with one again soon (but normal size and minus the mods), I'm just curious in the meantime to hear ppls opinions. Tell me about it and how you may have liked it (or otherwise.) Reminiscent of any other rackets? Pros, cons, etc. BTW I can't find too much by way of posts etc about it either. Seems like it's the BC20 that has got all the attention.

TIA,

This racquet does everything well but the comfort factor is second to none. My options are limited because of wrist and arm problems and I've played with ProKennex racquets almost exclusively for the last five years. I wanted to try something just as comfortable as the PK line but with a little extra "Pop" from an open string pattern. The only real adjustment has been on the serve because the BC30 is more of an even balance than my previous sticks. I also had Vantage change the grip to the head shape, an option that no other company has available in a stock retail racquet. I've heard that the BC line is like the old flexy Head racquets but I really can't compare it against anything that I've ever played with.

BC30 is a great racket. A racket with a lot of touch, good spin and power. The ball seems to stay longer on the strings which seems to give extra control and that's the bonus compared to rackets in the same category like an apdc or pure drive for instance.

Interested what kind of mods ppl felt were required.

Also, re racket comparisons, have heard it's kind of Vantage's APD (as martin above refers to)... others agree? Anyone played both care to say how alike they are?

With all due respect to anyone who has said it, comparing a babolat to a vantage, is an absurd comparison. They are polar opposites in construction and feel. Even though it seems like one was trying to say something nice, that would be an insult to Vantage I would think. A bastcore and any babolat do not have basically anything in common.

Indeed they're very different in construction. The BC30 has a much narrower beam which feels better but they do have similarities in terms of headsize with a quite open string pattern which is the reason i went back to the vt221 and bc20 as that gives more control but what i meant with rackets in the same category is that they're both tweeners.

Yes, Martin, I am aware they are somewhat different. tennisace has taken my comment rather literally and in an unnecessarily highhanded manner I feel.
