Vantage Racquet Deal Sponsorship

Hey everyone...First of all happy new year to everyone...
Well my question is... I had sent an email to Vantage Team to apply to their sponsorship program...Well I sent it like 2 months ago or maybe 3 actually... I thought I was never going to hear from them again...

Well I got offered a Subsided Sponsorship, and the prices are the following: for the Tennis Team Package I get 2 custom Racquets of my choice, 1 12-racquet bag, 2 reels of strings VTS1, 4 replacement grips, 12 overgrips, 1 backpack, 2 T shirts, 1 hat, and 2 sets of grommets... this package costs 240 dollars...

Is it worth it ? What is the feedback on Vantage Racquets ? are they any good ? or is it better that i purchase a normal racquet that i like instead of this one ?

Hope you guys can help me out thanks in advance

Vantage are known to make high quality racquets. If you know what you want in a racquet, then i would definately go for it. Think about it 240 equals 120 per racquet...which is cheaper then most racquets on the market right now. plus, you get tons of other stuff with the vantage deal.

yes i know what i want from a racquet... well the 120 dollars per racquet get lowered by the other stuff... the 12 racquet bag is like around 40 bucks atleast in a shop, the string reels, the backpack...i think i actually may go for it !=)

Congrats on the sponsorship, how do they know you are a good player, im not saying you arent, but a 2.5 could send in and say he is good and they will sponsor him. Did you have to send a video or anything?

hey congratulations mate! i think its cool that you got the deal...

when you say custom racquets, what do you mean? custom pj? custom specs?

so do you pay $240 for that entire package and it gets like reimbursed to you based on your performance in tournaments or how does that all work? and what level player are you?

i am also curious to how you apply for such sponsorships like these...again congrats on being offered this deal...

after going to TW's site and not seeing vantage racquets listed.....i've realized that i have never heard of vantage racquets...obviously no pro uses it to my thinking, so what is vantage racquets?

a racquet company which makes custom racquets for you? are they worth it? what's their deal? could someone explain this? i'm pretty smart with tennisnology but surpisingly i've never heard of vantage racquets

well i was just checking out their site actually now...pretty cool how you customize your racquet but how to trust their materials for the racquet....

and just playing around with it, the specs are kind of limited...at least for me, looking for a 16 x 19 and much heavier than the 330g max they offer...

Grade 2 sponsorship is the Subsidised support program. I got approved for the same deal. It would cost me $306 plus shipping costs for the same package deal.

It's an ordinary SALE.

Do you seriously believe you're getting a bargin deal?

Go demo some vantage rackets and then if find one you liked better than any current major brand racket, go ahead with the deal.

But don't buy into the sponsorship crap. All that supposed ""FREE"" gear is just ""FREE" marketing for vantage that they don't deserve.

I'd sooner get sponsored by the local butcher than vantage. At least they'd partially cover the entry fees..for a little exposure.

You mean to say you applied for sponsorship with a racquet company before deciding whether they were any good or not?

You mean to say you did a search on these boards and couldn't locate one of the countless threads relating to Vantage racquets?

Great deal for quality frames. They are "sponsoring" people that can spread the name and get racquets at cost plus some extra gear. If Prince is supplying you with the POG's you use than you must be a very good player. I don't currently use a Vantage racquet but their deals seem pretty fair and for a start up company in a market dominated by some large, long term manufacturers I would wish them well. I hope that your butcher thinks that you are somehow worth sponsoring because it seems like you have some issues.

yea, i got the same deal too, i think im probably going to take it. But for some reason, it will cost me $306? Yours was grade 2 right?

Also, Robkat, what are the strung specs on yours, static weight and whatnot, im debating getting the same one except a 1/4 inch longer

Every email you send out to vantage gives you a so called "sponsorship"

How do you know that? From what I understand there are several different sponsorships depending on the ability of the player to "spread the word" or the potential of the player to be highly ranked. It is hard to believe that any schmo that emails them can get frames at cost. How can you support your post (or are you simply guessing) as I am interested. Thanks

I get a kick out of it when some ordinary tennis players complain that they aren't getting some full boat sponsorship from Vantage (paid entry fees, free racquets, etc.) which is a small proprietorship trying to make a go of things. They produce excellent racquets that are worth every bit of $200 each if it meets your specs and you can semi-customize it for your game. For any players that gripe about the Vantage business plan - why not just get sponsored by Wilson or Head and be done with it ;)

Sounds like a really good deal. I have only heard good things about their rackets.

I got the same sponsorship today, but when I applied for it, I just put one of the Racquet Codes I found on a thread here. I didn't know thats the rackets I was going to get. =[

Do you guys know if they will let me change the racket?

It just seems that everyone on these boards get a grade 2 (including me) when ever someone gives them an app. They could turn them down, I dunno, but I've never heard someone say that, they've ever been turned down by them. It's just pure speculation though.

Aww, snap!

Vantage is a company started by a couple of former Dunlop employees, if I'm not mistaken. You can get the same sort of customization for their squash racquets, too. I don't remember looking at the tennis racquets, but I recall that one of the frame molds offered for squash was the same as the most popular Dunlop squash mold, so perhaps the tennis molds are the same... I don't know this for a fact, though.

well i dont knnow what the grade is the guys just told me it was a subsided sponsorship...actually i had to send some videos...

to someone that asked my level actually i don't know...we don't use NTRP levels in europe so I have no idea what my level is...but when I was in USA for my senior year in highschool I got to State semi finals, and i've also won some tournaments around here in my country (i'm not a tournament guy)

i've heard good things about their racquets, at least from this forumm, i just wanted to know if THE WHOLE package was a good deal or not...in reality it will cost me 180 EUROS which is around 230-240 dollars i guess...a normal brand stock racquet around here is 150 Euross

You can't say Vantage rackets are quality. Visually the rackets may look great. But that means nothing because they're untested and unproven at the highest levels of competition. For all anyone knows the materials may fatigue after 30 restrings. Btw vantage should have a stable of professionals using there rackets. Can we see the list?

Imho, Vantage takes AD-Vantage of people by making them feel special and unique by offering these bogus "sponsorship" DEALS!!!!!. .

If you seriously think the "deal" prices offered are good value, get yourself checked in.

This is a company that goes missing when there founder decides to cruise the carribeen. How hard is it to take a laptop and reply to those hundreds of desperate wannabes wanting "sponsorship".

I wouldn't have an issue with vantage if they stopped calling there sales "sponsorships".

I'm not going to reply to your last comment, since you seem intent on fighting.

300Gkid, strung weight is 11.3 not sure about SW but from my experince I would somewhere in the neighborhood of 315. Strung they are more flexible then the 63 Flex rating.
I have had my Vantage frames since Sept 2005 and have been very very Happy with them. They are quaility frames. Paul from Vanatge is a very nice guy and he had called me mulitple times from England when I was buying My Initial frames. Back in Sept 2005, I bought esssentially the same package they are offering in the G2 sponsorship package, less the shirt, hat, backpack and bumperguard sets. At that time I paid $302 which included shipping costs. The G2 sponsorship that I was approved like many others, would cost me $326 shipping included. which isn't a bad deal for what you get. Try buying Similar items at other places and see how much it would cost. I'm holding off for right now on the G2 package.
But if someone like Salvador can get the package for $240. that is a real good deal.

I got a 2 grade sponsorship, who here as the same sponsorship? And who had a free demo racquet? What about vantage quality?

I dont see what the big deal is. Vantage gives people who love the game an opportunity to save on great equipment. The quality is great and so far i have had no problems with the communication. Paul has always gotten back to me in about a week or so. So to me, Vantage is a great company and i like being with them.

I agree that Vantage makes a great product and that Paul seems to be a very good guy. His communication skills might need some work though given the posts that I have been reading. Either way, I love their frames.

My Vantage 90 is one of the sweetest racquets I've ever used. I would highly recommend their stuff. At least the frames aren't made by 8 year old Chinese girls tied to machines all day. ;)
