Vantage users info needed.

Hi guys,

Although, I've been using vantage for a long time I've never been able to figure out some things.

Has anyone figured out how they increase weight to the sticks? How they balance it for example?

I recently remove a handle off one of my racquets and saw that unlike most sticks out there, the handle pin looks like the O ports of a prince stick. Does that mean you can add/remove weight to different holes and change the balance and total weight?

Also has anyone seen if there has been anything added under the hoop?

I'm curious cus if nothing has been added to any of the hoop the only thing that vantage does is just add stuff to the handle area to adjust the different balance, weight etc.

If that's the case anyone who has a vantage stick could potentially have a pin similar to a head pro stock... absolute flexibility in making all sorts of adjustments.

i seem to recall someone talking about this in another thread.

although i could be remembering this incorrectly, i think in addition
to adding weight to their handles, vantage also have hairpins
with differently weighted hoops but not with lead. just straight
out of the mold

so each 90, 95, 100 and 105 in their various string patterns and layups each come in at different weights.
maybe like lite, medium and heavy?

maybe someone else can be more clear

Yes, the holes on ones i have had have sometimes been empty and others have had weights in them, quite a good idea really.

Apparently the 310 320 and 330 might share the same hairpin as I found just 10g more of lead in my 320 then 330g stick.

I just removed 20g of lead from my 330g vantage and move 30g of it to the last port just to see how it feels.

It's now 343g strung with leather and og yet, is still 9pts hl... hmmm.

The flat weight is 10g while the one with the bolt is 15g.

They don't make sticks like this anymore.

An advantage of this is that you can change the balance to being more HL without increasing the overall weight of the racquet, but that would change it to being more polarized if a weight was moved the from top of the handle hole to the holes near the butt.

Wouldn't this make the stick play differently in more ways than just changing the balance???

Where were the 10 and 15 gram weights placed originally on both the 320 and 330?

jason586, I had the chance to look at more of my sticks and it doesn't seem to matter where the weights are put the only thing is the weight and the balance point.

I think all the custom v vantages are built this way and they don't fill in the holes at all.

The downside is the sw of the stick isn't adjustable to the same extent but having just spent 30 mins at the wall, it plays pretty much the same as it was except, it swings a tad easier. From the placement of the lead I think most vantages are pretty polarized anyway. The Juice Pro I'm playing around with feels pretty much the same, all the weight at the head and butt with little in the middle.

I'm sure the sw is affected but cus the most of the weights were only at the butt, the head retains all it's power. If I had to guesstimate, the sw is less by 5-8?

Anyway, I can do a lot more with the stick like slices, dicing and still pound the ball as the sw is only slightly reduced but the static weight is now a skinny 343g from a hefty 364g.

For those of you who had purchased the 330g version of the V frame good news is you have some extra lead pieces to fool around with lol!

The 330g had 15g at the last hole, 15g +10 at the second to last and 10 grams at head of the stick.

The 320g had 15+15 at the third from last hole.

An added advantage to these holes is if you want some extra dampening just fill a couple of them with silicon and you have better dampening then the new Babolat sticks as you can really coat the length of the handle pallet with a thin layer of silicon which will really absorb any bad vibes.

Honesty with a stiff shaped poly strung at 50/48 or 48/46 the stick plays like a dream. For the 70ra I would say try 50/48.

I was in contact with Sven earlier and even if they are in dispute, they should still honor their warranties.

I have 5 Vantage 95s (2 black 70 flex and 3 red 63 flex), and it seems to me that they are all nearly the same weight without the weights in them. My most recent purchase of 3 x 330 gram (unstrung) had a 15 gram weight on each side in the upper slot (30 grams total) and a 10 gram weight in the middle of the lower slots on each side (20 grams total) for a total of 50 grams in the handle. My black Vantages I lightened and polarized to only one 10 gram on each side in the lowest slot (20 grams total), but I went a bit too light and polarized for my liking. I changed the 330 gram red sticks to one 10 gram in the upper slot and one 10 gram and one 15 gram in the middle lower slot for a total of 35 grams of weights in the handle.

I have done many tweaks by sanding the handles to exactly the way I like which is more rectangular, using a smaller size Head butt cap for less flare, and lengthening the racquet about 3/8". I used 2 pieces that I cut with tin snips froman extra slat from faux wood blinds to put inside the buttcap .
