Vapor Cage 4 vs Cage 3

I have used the Cage 3 for a while now and to be honest, I don’t find it the most comfortable shoe. It works, it’s durable, but not very comfortable to me.

I wanted to like the GP Turbo, but it did not work with my foot. My normal size was a little cramped, and sizing up creates way too much heal slippage.

How does the Cage 4 compare to the 3 in terms of comfort? Is it more comfortable than the 3?

3s really ruined me, bought them based on hype, but basically huge issues with blisters that never went away and the shoe being too narrow. Im afraid of trying Nike again (vapors were lacking durability but were way more comfortable)

Cage 3 is lightest cage I think 1 2 and 4 were all heavy ass bricks for stability lovers. Can't say anything about fit but they are wider than normal. If you are looking for narrow/lightweight, i wouldn't recommend cage 4

I’ve had two pairs of 3’s.

The first ones weren’t terrible until a couple months in where my feet really started to hurt.

Bought a second pair on sale and those have destroyed my feet. I’ve worn them four times and I’m done with them. The tops of my toes are rubbed raw and the side of my foot and my heel has been aching non stop.

Before the 3’s I always wore Gel Resolution’s. The 7’s however gave me plantar fasciitis and I stopped wearing them. I was thinking about trying the 8’s but some of the reviews haven’t been so great.

I used the cage 3 in half size larger and is fine, buy my regular size and was complete s... as some here mentioned but once you find the right size is a GREAT SHOE light, supportive and breathable
Regular size were just way too narrow and short on the toes.
I also have the gel resolution 7 in half size smaller due to heel slipage but is fine.
I got the VC4 in my regular CB size also the Vapor knit and fit fine and supportive. Different from the Cage 3 but still a tank of a shoe without feeling extremely heavy (At least for me).
When I write this I can see how messed the sizing is for nike this days.

The Cage 3 is a rough ride. I just broke in my first pair (Rafa AO 19 version) and they are narrow, hard, and upright.

I have a pair of 4s at home waiting to either be returned or played in. I haven't decided. They feel really nice and are lower to the ground than either the 2s or 3s. But people still report they feel solid/hard in comparison to a Vapor or a ZZ/GP Turbo.

For reference, I take a size 6 in the Cage 2 and the 4, but the 3s fit tighter IME so I got a 6.5.

Just exactly the same for me, regular size in VC4, ZZ and still like VC4 the most is SOLID not like the CB 4.3 or 2.3 but is way better than LB. Is a nice way to get back on track with the CB line. Now that they bring Agassi stuff back, I have a glimmer of hope for the CB 4.3 reissue

I have a pair of CB2.3 and they are unplayable.

Worse than my Breathe Cage II, which never fully 'broke in'.

Here is my size chart. I somehow ended up with one of each of the following as my current tennis shoe rotation:

Vapor 9.5 (clay): 6.5
Vapor X (clay): 6.5
Zoom Cage 2: 6
Zoom Cage 3: 6.5
Vapor Cage 4: 6

For me it is:
ZV9/9.5: 10.5
ZC2: 10.5
LB1.5: 10
ZC3: 11
ZC4: 10
CB 4.3: 10.5
I would definitely take a half size down. I’m finally on my first pair of the ZC4 ‘ATC IV’ colorway (3 total) after wearing out all of what I had left of the ZC3. (3)

It´s funny because CB and Breathe Cage II for me were amazing but it depends on foot tipes and style of play. Never found a shoe that supportive than those 2

Yeah I understand people love them. I'm 5'6", with size 6-7M feet, and weigh 125-140lb.

I think the CB4.3 and the Breathe Cage 2 were just 'too much shoe' for me. I switched to Vapors in 2015 and was much happier. Then I discovered the Zoom Cage 2 were in sort of a happy middle ground, lots of cushioning but not stiff.

I used to be huge Cage 3 fan, I just kinda accepted that there was a break in period with them. I ordered a pair and at home I tried on the Cage 4’s and the laces snapped. The fit was very uncomfortable and the shoes were narrow and I always size up. So needless to say I was extremely disappointed with the Cage 4. I was really looking forward to using them. On a separate note I tried the Vapor Knits and they were outstanding! There was no break in needed and were ready for the courts right out of the box.
