Vcore 95 (2021) setup

I demo’d the vcore 95 thinking it would be a great switch from my youtek graphene speed pro and now the vcore pro 97 hds which are just a tad more heavy than I’d like, but man I could not gel with the demo.

I’ve had issues with higher tensions on yonex frames feeling horrible so that may be it? Anyone have suggestions on the vcore 95 string setup and customization or should I just look to other rackets?

Play with the tension. It depends on how much racquet head speed you can generate and how hard you hit. I've had luck with Poly Tour Fire and T1 Firewire Boost at around 48 and as the tension relaxes down to 42. Personally I didn't like stringing it over 50.

But you probably might have to explain what you didn't like about it.

I'm using TierOne Black Knight (BK) @ 45 for almost a year now. Might be too muted for some people but I'm very insensitive to feel it seems like. I like BK's versality in producing all kinds of shots. Augments 95's similar versatility in a while.

Edit: BK 16g

Honestly, for me the dealbreaker moving on or keeping this racquet was adding 4 grams at 3/9 and that made the racquet top tier. For me it was night and day

Completely agree. I actually didn't really think it would make a difference but tried it out. I added some weight at 3 and 9, along with a leather grip and an overgrip, and I do feel like it swings through, especially for forehands and serves. Not sure if my shot performance is actually better, but the plow "feel" is better.

Picked up a used VCore 95 2021. Current setup is leather grip + Wilson overgrip, Sampras power strips at 10 and 2(total of 6g), strung with Solinco Confidential 1.25mm at 50lbs. Static weight is 347g, balance 315mm, 332 swing weight. Plays really nice.
