VCore 95 launch angle vs Blade 98 V7 16x19

16x20 vs 16x19, but the blade has 8 mains the throat visored to the 6 for the vcore. Would that have any affect? Never tried a 16x20. Felt that the blade launch angle was too low for me. Sweet spot is the RF97 strung bed launch angle so looking for something similar. I assume the vcore 98 has a similar one. But what about the vcore 95?

Actually, in my experience and with my strokes, i find the launch angle on the vcore 95 lower than with the blade 16x19 v7.

Ah right well that’s frustrating. Would you, or anyone happen to have experience with the vcore 98?

I have both on my bag, the vcore 98 is easier to use, has a higher launch angle and good amount of power, but is sometimes hard to control and it feels a bit wierd with a FB poly.

I like the vcore 98 better when strung with a hybrid with multi on the crosses.

The vcore 95 is a very precise frame, easy to swing with lots of speed, but you do have to work more to hit with power. But it rewards an amazing ball if you can swing it properly.

VCORE 98 is pretty open for a 16x19 in a 98. Launch angle is pretty high. When I switched from a 100 to the VC95, I also dropped the tension by 5lbs to counter act the change in launch. Stock, the racquet I low powered, but really comes alive with some added weight.

As far as similar patterns to the RF, I'd check out the Extreme Tour. It's a really strongly performing stick with great versatility and predictability off the string bed. Slice is unusually good for a 16x19.

Currently using a weighed up pro staff 95. But am just wondering am I limiting myself by using a frame like that when tweener are so common among the pros. But I think I’m gonna stay out with the pro staff. It’s the only racquet I’ve tried yet that doesn’t give me arm issues, and that 65ra looks scary. At the end of the day, arm health comes first. Just look at Delpo

65ra looks scary. I think that’s also why I’m gonna stay away from the vcore. String pattern looks ideal. But I can’t go back to playing using pain meds and then sitting out for 3 days. I’ve found a racquet in the pro staff 95 that I can play pain free in and I enjoy so why change.

when you get the chance to play with an dr 98 you should take it, could be exactly what you are looking for.

I agree, no reason to change, but doesn't the ProStaff 95 have a higher RA as well?

Not really adding much new here, but...

I use the VCore 95 now, and moved to it from the v7 18x20. One of the things I like about the VCore is that the launch angle is lower. So consider the v7 16x19 is that much 'worse' (for what you're after).
I had a chance recently to hit w the VCore 98 too, and my impression was that launch angle is about the same as the Blade v7 18x20. So I wouldn't recommend that one either.

I find the launch angle in the vc95 higher than the Blade v7 16x19, it is a modern 95.
If you have hand/wrist/elbow issues definately the VC95 will fit the bill with a hybrid or even a soft poly. I was on that same boat and that allowed me to keep playing. You'll probably find that the vc95 needs lead as well. It definately is a great frame but the vc98 is easier to play with.
The blade gave me some discomfort on my hand, i think it was the tight pattern. Also zi could not adjust to the balance. Now i switched to the vc98 and that frame fits my game very well which i did not expect but it did give me some discomfort with tour bite soft but a gut hybrid is proving effective. I was looking for a bit more power from the vc95 and i found that with the vc98. Great line of frames the vcores.

Ah really? May I ask the string that you used in both the blade and the vcore 95? Also is the vcore 95 noticeably softer than the vcore 98?

I was doing babolat tonic+ on the mains at 52 and yonex poly tour pro 120 on the cross at 50. Once i decided i was good to go back to poly again i went to try tour bite soft 120, which i liked and didn't give me any pain on the 95 for a long time but since switching to the 98 i do feel it. I also played tbs on the blade. But yes, the 95 is a lot more comfortable than the 98 but its a bit more demanding.

Mind that I now play a little bit more and I also strike hard, not mindless but consistently as I play on clay for 2 hours, typically an hour of drilling and a match so there might be a bit of muscle fatigue there.

This week I'm trying tonic+ on the mains and tour fire on the crosses, which i had half a set leftover, on the 98 and is giving me no discomfort this week but given that the 98 is a more powerful frame I need a higher tension or gut on the crosses as I'm struggling with control. I really don't want to go back to gut this time a year, I'm on 4 hours on the string job and I don't think it'll last me more than half hour. I'll try the new yptp blue 1.15 next. If that gives me no discomfort I'll switch to the 120 as i doubt I'll get many hours more than the gut from the 1.15. All trial and error i suppose.
Hope this helps.
