Velocity MLT & Premier Control - color make a difference?

Getting ready to try a multi and am looking at the Head Velocity MLT 1.25 (currently demoing a Burn that has it) and Prince Premier Control 1.25 (have tried in the past).

Has anyone noticed a difference in how the natural color version and black color version of either of these strings play? (ie: natural Velocity vs black Velocity; natural Premier vs black Premier)

In some strings I've tried in the past, specifically Volkl Cyclone and Prince Synthetic Gut, there has actually been a difference in the feel and playability depending on the color.

Also looking at Wilson Sensation but it only comes in one color.

Thanks for the help.

Have used premier control extensively in both colors. I find black is more muted and offers better control and therefore feels better. Natural is almost the same except in the feel department. I like them both but give slight edge to black.

I also like PPC in black more. Control and feel are better. Slightly harsher than natural, but it's a multi after all.

supposedly black plays with more muted feel while natural color plays with more pop, ive only played w black version of velocity but I think for most strings, black is more muted (possibly from the paintjob?) while the brighter color strings play more crisp/lively

CoPolymer strings try to form semi-crystaline structures, still somewhat amorphous, when they are cooled and drawn. Introducing dyes, make the resultant structures more amorphous. What this generally means is for a given ref tension with same string of same diameter, there is more stretching on a microscopic scale. Static tension losses are easier to pull out of dyed copolymers than undyed natural copolymer strings. The result is generally higher DT and a lower DT loss rate over the life of the string bed. Higher DT also generally mean more muted or deader feeling strings. So, dyed copolymer strings cannot generally be softer feeling than un dyed copolymer strings, all other factors being equal.

If you want to use a dyed copolymer string rather than natural, then drop the ref tension 1-2 # depending on gauge. This was stated in the Velocity Thread when users were wondering about Pink, Yellow, Blue Velocity.

To threadjack a bit, I am a MultiFeel black player who has never tried either Premier Control or Velocity. Any thoughts on which of those matches the "crispness" of MultiFeel?

I can also confirm that Velocity is way too muted if you are used to to multifeel's crispness. For me, multifeel is a better string. The only advantages of Velocity are its control (low power) and durability. I haven't tried ppc.
