Venus or Serena? Who is your favourite for the final.

This thread is for who posters think will win and why. So please no trolls or flamers, there are far to many threads on that already. I personally would like to see Venus win her 5th title. I also like how Venus carries herself on and off court. After all these years of watching both sisters I think you really get to learn a lot about them and on the surface at least Venus has more reedemable qualities than younger sister.

It always irritates me when commentators say that, when the Williams' have a final - they never know who to root for - as if Venus and Serena are one entity.
They are both talented players that have achieved tremondous success despite their humble backgrounds. Richard Williams, has done a great job, whether you like him or not. I think we (Brits) could learn a lot from his model. However, I am surprised that Richard is not part of any national American tennis program after all he has produced champions of 15 grand slams singles plus numerous doubles.

If he had been British, he would probably be running the LTA. Take Judy Murray for example, she has a good job with the LTA and she has only got Andy Murray into the top 15.

Anyway back on topic I wish Venus all the best for the final. I hope it is a decent final with good tennis as shown at Bangalore this year.

I would like Venus to win between the two. I think she takes her training more seriously then Venus as she physically resembles more her old self then fat Serena does her old self. I would like to see her rewarded for still taking the game more seriously then her sister.

I am glad that Venus gets the chance to play for her 5th Wimbledon title and I hope she get's it. That would close the gap, and she would be 2 behind Graf. They say the grass rewards the better athelete, I think it's time to get that monkey off her back and take Serena out.

Go Venus!!!!! :)

Serena all the way!

Awww,

"TheTruth", I know you were to good to be true, pun intended. :D

With your obvious class and good taste I can't believe we won't be on the same side. Tsk, tsk!

Venus ............

hey, put up a poll, for those of us who *don't* like to see our post count shooting up.

If it wasn't for Serena, Venus would have had 10 slams by now. Unfortunately, Venus will lose on purpose tomorrow again.

I'll watch the final and root for Venus,I always liked her athleticism, serve and the fact that she actually goes to the net and has very good volleys for today's standards, plus I like her much more as a person than Serena,Sharapova and similar. So Venus for the 5th Wimbledon for me,I always like to watch her play on grass.I know that Serena seems to have the upper hand usually when they play(I think she leads 2-1 on grass) but I think Venus will take it this time.

The sisters are like completely different entities to me.
I am thoroughly rooting for Venus.
It's not that I think she handles herself with more class (which she does), it's just that she is such an aggressive player (more than her sister) and I appreciate her game and I will be thoroughly disappointed if she doesn't win tomorrow.

Go Venus. It's your rosewater dish!

I would like to see Venus winning her 5th title.

I enjoy more watching Venus playing on grass.

"Give me 5", says Venus.

I consider Venus the lesser of the two evils. If she wins, she ties Henin for slams. If Serena wins, she ties Seles. Darn either way, but go Venus.

Very high quality match so far. Not 2005 Wimbledon final level but better than last year.

THAT was a final. I stayed at the airport to the final moment before I had to run to get to my plane that day. I really wanted Davenport to win it, but both her and Venus played their butts off. Too bad we rarely see such matches on the WTA.
