Very confusing! So Which Is It?

1)What best describes Maria Sharapova playing Mary Pierce?
a) A Russian versus a French b) Two Americans playing c) A Russian vs. an American d) An American vs. a French. Damned if I know! Do you?
How much time has 17 year-old Sharapova spent in Russia in the last 10 years? 4 days, 1 month, zero?

I think it is best described as two Americans with ties to other countries.

2) Is Petrova Dutch, Egyptian or Russian in culture?

3) Does Safin ever spend time in Russia,or is he Spanish?

4)Does any "Romanian" player in the top 300 live in Romaina. I believe the answer is no.

5) Do any Swedish players live in Sweden? I doubt it due to taxes. Monte Carlo may win the next Davis Cup!

At what point, if ever, does one cease being from the country one is born in?
10 years? More? Is Hass still "German"?

Yeah most these people represent countries they dont even live in... This Pierce however is strange... she was born in Montreal Canada and lives i think in the US. Given that Montreal is mad French but where the hell does supporting France come from. Why would anyone in France root for a fake French woman?

The USTA even supported Pierce for a short time, I'm pretty sure of. I guess you are considered to be "from" whatever country you're born in...at least for ATP and WTA purposes. But, Pierce has spent more time in Florida than Mickey Mouse...so, go figure. She considers herself French, so, I'll leave it at that.
This got me to thinking, since I saw the USTA was talking about Taylor Dent being mentioned as having to give money back, since he had earned over $1,000,000 in career prize money, and thus, no longer in need of support by the USTA. I think Pierce should be obligated to do the same.
