Looks like he could beat a few Futures level players even at that age.

No.. you can feck off.Do we really have to listen to all that Scottish hogwash?

Didn't realise Leon Smith coached Murray when he was a youngster. Nice that he's been with him through so much of Andy's journey.
Haha, well sorry....Do we really have to listen to all that Scottish hogwash?
Haha, well sorry....
Love the Scottish pride in that report. Map of Scotland...a reference to a burgeoning tennis culture "north of the border".
To us Americans, it's funneh to think of the division as an actual border. We really think of it as London, England as the capital of the UK. Naturally we know what Scotland is...like Wales, Northern Ireland, etc...but the idea of a border has our brains thinking of México or Canada. Neighbors rather than fellow parts of a sovereign nation. We would not think of NY, CA, FL or TEXAS as across a border. Well maybe New Orleans, Louisiana, haha.
Rich history you all have within the UK.
Incredible how many LTA amd European junior championships have been won by Scottish kids over the past decade. Judy and her staff have done something verry verry rright over therr.

Thank you, yes, remarkably rich history there.Scotland was an independent kingdom for over 800 years and the Scots and the English fought each other many times during that period. So there is still a concept of a border between the 2 former nations albeit it is an internal one now. The UK, by contrast, is only just over 300 years old.
Hahha, i did see that sho. Lol...the county line concept...was that something to do with moonshine, excessive speed, corrupt law enforcement or just good storytellin'?I can only presume you never watched the Dukes of Hazard growing up. They were always having to escape over the "county line" to get away from the police.
Just as well you've not seen the bickering between the people or Yorkshire and Lancashire, with their different coloured roses and being on the right side of the Pennines!
At age six Murray won his first match in the under 12s age group. By the age of nine, he was beating experienced men club players at Dunblane and beyond.

Andy Murray age 6 beats an 11 year old in A Scottish Ranking tournament!
That can't be right?! You're not that long out of nappies at that age.
Is this a mistake?

Pennines, roses, puddings and pubs. You Brits must tell us more.
Great Britain is just over 300 years old - UK was formed in 1801. Complicated eh
The interesting thing about Murray is he has had to shoulder the pressure from the English wanting him to do do well and Scottish people wanting him to do well while he himself has really broadened his wings and embraced the U.S. as well (where he gets big support as well - albeit not like his home fans).
When I think of Andy now I think of a guy who calls America home just as much as Scotland or England. He is a big embracer of a lot of Americana like NBA basketball, gridiron and college athletics and U.S. food culture, video gaming etc. etc. and I have read many interviews where he talks about loving the climate and facilities in Florida.
Sometimes I really hate being British. Why is it so simple for everybody else: French are French, Germans are Germans, Americans are Americans etc. but we have to define ourselves as English or Scottish or Welsh or Northern Irish and then try to explain to everybody else that we are also British too. France has always been just France (at least for the last 1,000 years) but we've been England or Scotland and then Great Britain, then United Kingdom of Great Britain & Ireland and then United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. It does my head in trying to explain to foreigners why, in contrast to them, we have such a complicated litany of different names to describe the country/countries we are from!
Come on batz....why can't we just all agree that Scotland is just another name for Northern England? Everybody else just thinks we're all English from England anyway!

Bloody great video, thanks for posting. What rack was Murray using in the video?
Yeah - he loves his time in Florida and he's always spoken fondly of the states. What's not to like about American sports - my youngest kid has even managed to make we watch a whole baseball match recently (although it did look a lot like rounders ). I love NFL.
Does he get much support from Americans? I wasn't aware that he did.
I'll never understand why Murray didn't go on to dominate the way Novak did. His early career showed so much promise. (not taking anything away from him, he's still had a massively successful career that so many players would kill to have had..)
