KineticChain.....
Take 2 players. 1. 6'4" athlete, former baseball player.
2. 5'6" athlete, former table tennis champ

Who can serve harder, after two years of tennis?
If you don't pick option ONE, you don't know sports.

Straw man argument. Kinetic chain did not mention baseball or table tennis.

TopShot, in case you didn't know, there are almost NO 5'6" tall baseball players of high caliber any more. This is 2014.
Taller guys dominate in baseball, while short Asians can still play decent table tennis.
Here, we're talking two accomplished athletes of different heights. No such thing as a really good baseball player at 5'6", because he'd choose a different sport, and his coach would discourage him from baseball.
6'4", OTOH, can play baseball AND table tennis.

You really do just say whatever comes into your head, don't you? Look up Jose Altuve........he's a 5'5" MLB all-star.

Also a quick google says the avg height of mlb players and the top 50 table tennis players are just over 6'1" and 5'10.5", respectively. You can talk around that 2.5"difference all you want, but in the real world it's negligible.

If you have never recorded yourself you should do so. After looking at how many moving parts and the timing that my serve requires I'm switching to a platform and lower toss. It's not as hard as I thought it would be I just get the hitting arm started before I toss.

Since posting this video I have been able to play about 1 per week. I've made two changes as a result of watching myself:
1. Lower toss
2. Change to platform serve.

The main reason I've done this is to improve my confidence in placing the ball- especially on second serves. I find I use my wrist more for better control on placement as well.

Regarding my old serve: The feet together stance came about naturally as a result of me wanting to hit the ball harder. The high toss I feel was the main factor in my lack of confidence in placing my second serve- down the t for example on the duece side. I felt like there was a tremendous amount of timing and factors that had to go right for me to place my serves.

Now, in large part due to my lower toss, I find I'm not trying to hit the ball as hard and my placement (and more importantly confidence) is way better.

Table tennis player's are askewed high because of the relatively recent influx of Scandanavian players, guys 6'3" or around there.
ONE baseball player shorter than 5'7 doesn't make it an average.
