VOLKL C10 Pro 2018 same feel and everything as original?

I have the Volkl C10 Pro from 2002 the original. Thinking of buying a few of the 2018 models since I only had one of these Volkls. They say only the paint job has changed but for people who have used the 2018 or later models of this racquet can I expect to get the same feel and everything as the original?

The 2002 was not the original. They date back to 1998 I believe. The original C10s were more flexible than the current ones and had a different flex point, more in the head. The model I wound up preferring was the fish scale model which was a hot melt layup. The newer C10s are still awesome frames, but IMO they are not as plush as the older fish scale ones.

How does the current C10 compare against the VSense 10 tour?

I haven't hit with the latest C10. I can tell you that compared to the C10, the VS10T is fairly close. Upside, it's more maneuverable, has great feel, and it IMO more accurate. Downside, it's not as powerful or as plush as the C10. I found the VS10T to play better for me at the net and overheads. Everything else is dang near identical. I didn't have to adjust much of anything when I moved. The one thing I had to work on was serves as the VS10T doesn't provide as much pop on serve IMO as the C10. But once you adjust that, it's all gravy.

hmm. I wonder what contemporary racquets equate to the Volkl C-10 circa 1998.
Your best bet is the current C10. Any racquet made in 1998 is going to feel a little different to one made in 2018. The handle pallet you have and the age of the pallet will impact the feel you get. I'm currently using the predominantly yellow paint job (2010 model I guess) and it came with the sensor tour handle found in the Tour 10mp /V Engine/ PB series and not the twin absorber found in the original and last 3 paint jobs. The other thing is that there is variability in the weight and balance of frames, it's very hard to get exact copies of anything. The 2 Yellow ones I have both have leather grips added and one has a strung weight of 357g while the other is 364g so they feel a little different.
The key is you go out and buy your new C10's, play with them for a month and see if you can get used to them.
The other thing is I'm sure that manufacturing would have changed over the years. Different batches, different factories and even different attention to quality would all impact.

I wish the C-10 was just about 11.9 ounces so I could tinker with weight/balance more readily.

I have one of the old fish-scale C10's as well as some of the old yellow-and-black frames from the earlier generations. Some of those older C10's are heavier than the current ones and they also seem to be a bit softer, but they don't look as though they have any different dimensions compared with the more current versions.

Actually I'm wondering now... I'm going to go look them over and check back.

I compared them fishscale vs old yellow-black. The older one seemed wider and shorter.
