Is the Volkl Catapult V1 MP as good and similar to the Volkl DNX V1 MP?

I am based in Europe and the only V1's I can get hold of are the Catapult.

Played yesterday with the DNX V1 (wife's racket) and was blown away, usually I play with "heavy rackets" - V-Engine Tour 10 Mid, Fischer Pro 1 (330 grams), N-Code 6.1 Tour, Fischer Pro Tour Extreme FT and a few more of the kind. I grew up with the Pro Kennex Black Ace 98 ... hence my love for hefty rackets.

After a very hard hitting 2 hour game on Friday night with a 19 year old (I am 38) my shoulder and forearm felt really tired on Saturday morning which made my 10 am Saturday feel like a night mare.

To cut the story short ... picked up the tooth pick DNX V1 ... put on an extra over grip and hit the court. My ground-strokes were effortless ... put away shots easy and could get the rally going when I was late ... I was winning points I would of lost with my Tour 10.

So all you Volkl V1 fans out there ... what do you recommend? All the input will be much appreciated.

For me, most of the V1's play very similar with a very controlled but forgiving response. Even balance makes them an easier transition from a heavier frame because they seem to have more 'heft' than the static weight would indicate. My personal favorite is the Silver anniversary version but did like the Catapult version as well. If you are in Europe, would think you could get a hold of the Becker V1 fairly easily. Think the trick with the V1 is just to hit your shots, maybe a small amount of lead at 3/9 if you are consistently making contact early on groundstrokes. Get one and give it a go for a few weeks - you'll know after 4-5 outings if it for you.

I dislike the Catapult system, I think all the racquets it is on feel harsh. Cat V1 swings much heavier than DNX V1. DNX V1 by a mile.

IRRC, the Becker V1 is also substantially heavier/heavier swing weight than the DNX V1 MP. So the Becker V1 won't necessarily be a good substitute.
