Volkl midplus models (What's the diff?).

Hi all,

TW has several similar looking Volkl midplus frames, with very similar specs, for sale.

The DNX 10 Midplus.
The Tour 10 V-Engine Midplus.
The Tour 10 MP Generation II Midplus.
And the C10 Pro Midplus.

All have 98" heads. They weigh within 0.3 oz. of each other. All are very headlight. And the similariies include stiffness, swingweight, and string pattern.

I was hoping some of you out there with Volkl experience could tell how these frames differ.

Thanks much.

I've only tried the DNX 10 MP and it was great. I chose it over the fp prestige and the redondo MP. As far as the other ones, they're just older versions.

If you would do a search, you would find lots of info. They all obviously feel different and hit with diff power levels and their swingweights are different. The one that is the most different from the others IMO is the T10VE-MP. that one is the hardest to spin I think and is also the most powerful. They're all nice frames..really solid..lots of feel..make your own power..really big sweetspots, etc

Thanks, Mojo. I have done some searching. And learned a few things. I guess I was hoping to get some specific details from hitters who've tried several of the frames for comparison.

If it's helpful, let me share my Volkl 10-series history. Started w/ the C-10. Lovely feel, but I could never completely get around what I felt was too much flex in the upper hoop. To be fair, others LOVE that feeling. Demo'd the Tour 10 MP and found that Volkl had stiffened the frame somewhat, but the specs were so close to the C-10 I decided against switching. What would be the point? (I also demo'd the Tour 10 V-Engine MP and felt it was too stiff and powerful for my tastes.)

But when the Tour 10 Gen II arrived -- ah, this was great. Wonderful flexy feel and spin. As comfy as the C-10 w/o that droopy upper hoop. Best volleying stick of the bunch. Yet perhaps a tad TOO headlight in the balance.

Then this year, like so many others, I decided to drop some swingweight as a way to increase racquethead speed and with it, spin and control. That led me not to the DNX 10 MP or Mid, but to the DNX 9. Similar swingweight actually to the Gen II, but a better balance -- and great access to spin, power and control. I love it!

But your latest racquet is ALWAYS your fave, right?

Ssshhhh, don't let your old love hear that or you might cop a earful.

Sometimes I do like to take my old faithful out and I realise why I bought it in the first place.

My first racquet was the Quantum 10 which provided a tap with power for a beginner-intermediate. As the strokes improved, I bought the first generation C10 Pro MP about 8 years ago (I think?) and this one has not strayed far from me. The swingweight is just right and has a nice flexy feel in the upper hoop. Therefore, shots hit in the upper bed are also very forgiving.

I have followed the path of Django w/o looking back after the tour 10 gen II...wow what a racket..my golf game greatly improved after I found the right clubs and quit blaming the equipment..I now have that for tennis
