Volkl Tour 9 V-Engine?

When I did my racquet search for racquets between 11.4 and 11.8 ounces, the Volkl Tour 9 V-Engine (16x19) did not show up - I went back and checked my numbers and it was because I had put in a 310 swing weight minimum.

Can anyone give me some feedback on this racquet?

Or maybe compare it to the Tour 10 V-Engine Midplus or some other racquets you've tried or I've tried (POG mid, Hyper Pro Staff 6.1, 6.1 Classic, Head Ti.Radical MP, Yonex MP-1 Tour 98, Babolat Pure Control, Prince Precision, Babolat Pure Drive, Volkl Tour 10 Midplus) ?

I remember trying the Tour 9 a couple summers ago and liked it a lot but felt it was a just a touch unstable and a bit short on power. Does the Tour 9 V-Engine solve either of these problems?

Thanks.

I demo'd the Tour VE 9 (16x19)about 6 weeks. I was very dissapointed with it. It played light, Had no "touch and Feel" to it. It kinda played with a '"tinny" feel. IMO, It does not compare to the other frames you have listed above. I also think the Tour 9 was a much better frame then the Tour VE 9. Another dislike I had with the Tour VE 9 was the length of the distance between the the bottom of the string bed to the Handle which seemed very short. I was almost like I was playing with the string bed and attached to it ,was a handle

Could anybody compare Volkl Tour9VE to Tour10MP and Tour9 in terms of power and stability?
Thanks

Benj, I am also interested in the V9 engine (nice review by TW) as well as the older CAT 10, both have very similar specs. I am curious how those who have hit with these two frames would compare them? I am going to demo both.

drak i would not recommend either of those frames...those are prob the two worst volkl offerings. there's lots of info on these frames on this message board if you do a search. ed

Well crap :?

I had all but penciled in the Volkl Tour 9 V-Engine in as my 4th demo after looking at the specs. I guess now I'll have to go back and look again or just go with three.

Anyway, thanks for the honest opinions....you saved me from ordering a demo that I'd probably hate.

WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON THE HEAD LIQUID METAL PRESTIGE MIDPLUS? I HADN'T EVEN CONSIDERED THIS BECAUSE I THOUGHT IT WAS LOW POWER AND LOW SPIN...ACCORDING TO THE REVIEW IT HAS BOTH.

Hey Benj, just because a few folks (no offense meant at all guys) don't like it the reviewers did (V-9 engine) and there are many feedback comments and posts supportive of the Cat 10. We all know just how subjective racket use is. I am going to try both these and I'll let you know how it goes - and because of nobadmojo I will also Demo the RDX 500 midplus as well.
