There are different pique polys within the Lacoste Sport lines.

The ones from the most recent collections with the line through the middle of the chest or with the triangles are with a rough weave, similar to their cotton pique standard polos.

There is a weave similar to the small pique/pique light in cotton, and looks like a smooth surface with a small indentations in the material, and then there is another poly, from which some special series are made, which is practically smooth (i.e. no visible weave) and, IMO, is their highest quality poly, but used very rarely for whatever reason.

BTW, what do you understand when you say "construction"?

Do you mean "fit" or "construction"?

For the first I cannot judge, because I have to see it on a person who is wearing it and is wearing something that I am familiar with to decide, but Agassi's original was nothing like the fit of the current Lacoste.

As for construction, there are a number of constructions used in the Lacoste Sport lines, so I don't think there is something known as Lacoste construction.

EDIT:While I was writing about the construction I recollected yet another type of poly, which was different from the one I already mentioned with that that it was a kind of very light/loose smooth weave, which was working excellently, but had a very uncharacteristic feel for a Lacoste shirt. I remembered it, because the construction was unfortunate in the sense that the front constituted of three pieces which were sawn with seams that were close to the nipples and every time the wearer was moving..... well, you get the picture. It was extremely annoying and they became known amongst us as the "nipple teasers".
Not Lacoste's best moment.

Agassi's original? Did Lacoste make something for Agassi?

It has been for some time now.

From which season is the last polo shirt in cotton that you have got that says Lacoste Sport on the polo or the etiquette?

I think it was very long ago, back then it was absolutely impossible for me to get any Lacoste stuff. The earliest Lacose Sport (i mean functional not casual) that i have are from Roddick collection.

Man, it is difficult to address your posts when you are all over the place with your reading.

My comment about the "original" was referring to the fit of the shirt, not the company that produced it or the material.

Read carefully, please.

The fit of Agassi's shirts changed with time like every other shirts.

Most of his career it was a trend to wear a loose fit.

I don't pay so much attention to different type of material of tennis shirts, the most importante for me is to get poly not cotton.

Yes. I am talking about this specific shirt compared to the current Lacoste fit as another poster said that they are similar and I don't think that this is the case (but my memory might be off. After all it has been a long time since I saw that shirt).

If the fit of the copy is exact with the original, and you have Lacoste polos from their recent/current ranges, maybe you could confirm/refute that.

I think this another poster means the similarity of current Lacoste material with materials that Vollaix use, not the fit of the polos.

Compare the materials of current Lacoste Sport line and Vollaix i was really surprised how good Vollaix material is. Honestly i get this polo mostly for design to refresh my memories. If it will be cotton i will get it also. But the material is very thin and functional, top end quality. And though i like Lacoste functional products i like Vollaix more.

Yes, he said "materials and construction", but since there is not only one construction for the Lacoste Sport lines, the only thing I could think of was fit (he has not commented further, so I really don't know whether that interpretation is correct).

Don't get his thinking about "construction", i only catch "materials" matter. The "construction" compareance is too complicated for me now at the end of hard working week:).

It seems that you have found a winner in your searches then.

Wear it in good health.

If we will talk about how it fits i can say that Vollaix Agassi's shirt resembles his original Nike and is more loose fit then other Vollaix shirt (also very good quality) that i have. So i get true Agassi look now;).

You do not find any loose fit styles of shirts now, doesn't matter who produce it. It's a different trend or fashion style now. Like you did not find loose fit in the 70's.
This is true. I was never a fan of the loose fit stuff in that era although I do prefer Under Armour "loose" just because it fits like a normal shirt.

I really do like the yellow/black/teal Challenge Court stuff Agassi wore at the 1990 US Open. I have to say those baggy sleeves would bother the heck out of me though.

It's a little funny to see those loose fits shirts (like modern long shorts). Most of all i like style of tennis clothes of Borg period. But that's Agassi style is ok also. I don't like Sampras Nike styles. Simply no fashion.

Those shirts of Andre's all through the 90's were HUGE. I had a few. That's where he got in the habit of rolling them up on returns.
