Voting ends Tuesday at midnight.

**To sweeten the deal, if I win this contest I hereby pledge to post footage of me hitting tennis balls.**

Yeah, that's right. Think of the fun you'll have watching my pitiful form. You'll see it all. The serve. The FH. The BH. Oh, yeah. This is an offer you can't refuse. So go vote, will ya!!!

Oh, hey. Did I mention that I've won every other round of voting? In Round Three, I had 31% of the vote, with the next closest contestant at 24%. So thank you!

Outrageous! This is blatant bribery!!!
But…but… this offer is priceless. Alright, you’d have my vote if you can throw in one of your “Yoga is Magic” poses, any pose.
Deal?

Good luck+you got my vote. Just curious what exactly this job going to be like? Will it be writing for the Wash. Post?

Yep, the winner writes a column, which would be a total blast.

All right. You people drive a hard bargain.

I do not have any yoga poses. I will, however, show you a pic my husband took of me playing at Districts a few months back. He has some really horrific ones, but I don't know how to access his google account. All I can provide right now is this one, of my serve.

Now go vote already!!

Just voted for you !

btw, isn't it sort of cheating to ask people on a tennis forum to just go and click a button. Anyway, best of luck, Cindy.

I think she explained she is actually encouraged by the organizers to do this, more hits for their website or something.

Anyway, it seems Cindy wants this badly... Maybe we could ask for something more than a few tennis shots in exchange for our votes? Dunno, a video on how to cook her best recipe or something... you know, the usual extortion-ey stuff. :p

Yes it is. But now you are also an accomplice to the crime so you cannot complain.

No, totally not cheating!

If the organizers wrote and asked me how and how many people I had asked to vote, I would tell the truth. If you can tell the truth, you aren't cheating.

Or are you people saying you're not my friends? :(

Long transcript. Was a bit harder to judge since they all weren't answering the same questions all of the time...but I like Cindy's (no surprise there)...especially the one about the picture-taking, the over-celebratory office, bringing the SO to the Office Party and the homophobic co-worker.

Bribe not needed here. I thought your body of work over the entire contest was good stuff.

Good Luck!

If Cindy is not working now, isn't that a negative point? How can she claim to be current about workplace issues?

C'mon gang, voting ends tonight - get out there and vote for Cindy.

If you have read any of the entries in any rounds, it's clear that she would be great at this. It's a good thing to support a fellow tennis lover who has contributed alot to this board.

It takes 1 minute maximum!

Im not sure how much the TW vote affected your results so far. But in my opinion if the TW peeps got you in the top three it should be up to the poeple who will actually read what you write to comment and affect the outcomes.

From what ive read its all pretty much the same at this point and If I was actually going to read it I would feel slighted if the only reason my competitior won was becasue frinds got on and rigged it.

This is mightily stupid. First they have three rounds, to eliminate some people. And still, they ask for readers' feedback because it "might be the deciding factor as the judges contemplate this difficult decision".

Just goes to show that the Advice Columnist post is more theater and entertainment than any real advice. This is a pity because the contestants seem to have put some effort into this.

Well, the contest organizer called to say they had decided to go with Karla.

Ah, well. I gave it the old college try, and that's all you can really do.

Now. Here's what I think was going on behind the scenes.

They usually emailed us right after the polls closed to tell us the results. For Round 4, they emailed us when the polls closed to say they were going to "tally the votes" or something. Pardon?

What was really going on was that Michelle had suddenly doubled her vote total, so they were worried about what had happened with the vote. Someone got the idea to have this awful, awful round of comments. That way, they could smoke out Michelle's followers and see if they were real and what had caused so many to show up all of a sudden. I am not happy to have had to participate in something so inappropriate ("Cindy will be evasive because she's a lawyer"), but that's the way the ball bounces.

Anyway, thanks so much for all of your support! We really went down to the wire, didn't we? I reconnected with people I hadn't spoken to in years, I had fun, I got to use my brain. All good outcomes, I say!!

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to play my first match at Nationals tomorrow!

I don't trust this Michelle character at all. But it reinforces my belief that the world is turning into a marketing show and this is how jobs will be filled in the future. There was a time when you quietly went about your studies, and then somebody gave you a chance when you graduated. Now, every college student is doing an internship or two, and promoting himself/herself every possible way through networking on LinkedIn, FB and such.

Maybe you're right. Then again, has there ever been a true meritocracy in this country? Nope. In the past, jobs were often filled through neposim. Now a few are going to be decided by marketing.

As for Michelle, I don't know what it was, but people reacted very badly to her. My friend says she is very nice.

For me, the hair on the back of my neck bristles when I hear someone is a life coach. It is just not a profession I respect. When you need guidance, you should turn to friends, family, clergy, meditation/prayer. If you don't have these connections in your life, isn't that the real problem.

Then again, Michelle was able to mobilize over 800 people just by lifting a finger. Maybe that says something.

Why is a life coach different from a psychiatrist/psychologist? Why is a life coach different from a tennis coach? Or a mentor in the workplace?

I have come across a life coach only once. It was on a visit to a lawyer's office to fill out some paperwork, and one of the partners came out to meet a woman sitting in the waiting area. He then introduced her to his secretary as "my life coach." That was the one and only time I have seen a life coach in person.

I agree that family and religion have traditionally acted as life coaches, but the world is changing. Families are smaller, and their advice does not necessarily target your well-being, but often what they want from you for their own well-being. I hate to say this, but parents often do this to their children.

I think a life coach is like a sounding board and could help people make good decisions.

IMHO, "life coaches" are untrained psychotherapists. I just don't see what they bring to the table. But hey, if someone wants to pay $$$$ to get someone to listen to them, whatever.

Well, I was a little worried that the advice column thing wouldn't leave Cindy much time to post on TT. That would be a shame.

Well, Richard Williams was an untrained tennis coach. Can you argue with his results?
