Went with A1, B1, C2, D1

My suspicion is most will vote the same, but maybe C1 instead because people hate Murrovic and love Wawa

Princip is:
Vote for A1 or A2 , B1 or B2 , C1 or C2 , D1 or D2..

I'll vote for:
A1 - Wimbly 2008 FIN( great match,little bit overrated)
B1 - Wimbly 2014 FIN( tough one,but still fed comeback was quite something else)
C1 - Aussie 2014 4R( easy choice)
D2 - WTF 2005 FIN( toughest choice, but fed in 2009 finsl was totally saved by serve, quality was far better in '05 finals)

Federer said the greatest match for level of play that he and Nadal played was the 2009 Australian final. He thought it was superior to the 2008 Wimbledon and I agree.

when did he say that ? source ?

If you ask me, quality wise, in a slam , its Wimby 07 final, with AO 09 final being 2nd and wimby 08 final third ..
and overall, Rome 06 final first.

D2 - WTF 2005 FIN( toughest choice, but fed in 2009 finsl was totally saved by serve, quality was far better in '05 finals)

federer was having ankle problem in that match. After 2 sets, he lost 16 of the 19 games ( 6-1 and 6-2 sets and was 0-4 down in the 5th set ) ...finally found a 2nd wind and made it close in the end.

Wim 09 final was easily better quality-wise. the thing is ballstriking wise, the YEC 05 final was brilliant and that's what shows on the highlights.

federer hit 72 UEs in that match btw ..

A1 : the #1 seed starts against a good opponent, but not good enough :)
B2 : that match was crazy. W14 was a bit crazy too, in the 4th set, but then end was anticlimatic when Federer folded physically.
C1 : easy choice!
D2 : tough choice because Set 3 and 4 weren't good, but the rest was very good and had the drama. W09 was also a good match, lot of tension, but i prefer Nalbandian style to Roddick's and pretty much like W14, it ended when Roddick folded physically, it's not my favourite ending

I also nominate RG 2011 Fed vs Novak. Novak on a million match win streak, Fed getting his sh*t together. It was brilliant shotmaking, drama and rallying.

That could certainly be part of the reason, and it probably is, but I also think that match is just overshadowed by the Djokodal final afterwards. There was no such scenario in 2013, and everyone probably expected Djokovic to win in straights and it ended up being 12-10 in the fifth which was a huge surprise. Also probably the match that made Stan a slam contender. The SF between Djokovic and Murray was probably their best match, but I don't think it losing is only because people don't like Murrovic matches, and at some point they were going to have a close slam match because Murray was improving every year. So maybe people were less surprised and therefore remember it less.

No Nadal v Verdasco 09 AO?
Their SF match was of a better quality than the final. First four sets in the final were incredible, but the intensity significantly dropped in the fifth - that didn't happen in the semifinal, it was a brutal fight from the beginning until the last point.
