My opinion of Djokovic will never change, i hate everything about him.

Pierce:
1. she looked 70 when she was 20 years old. today she looks like she's 300.
2. I can't remember which match it was but they had to stop it for like 15 minutes because Miss Pierce got blinded by her own (eyelashes/mascara). That didn't stop her from putting too much make-up everytime she stepped on court though.. Bich probably was hoping for an Elizabeth Arden contract, and I know she didn't get one.
3. Hate her service motion, especially what she does with her head when she tosses the ball.

I think she may have eased up on the eye-liner since she found Jesus. She will no doubt pray for you if she ever happens to read this! ;)

Favorites while active (that is, at the time I was following the game):

Becker - my first tennis hero
Ivanisevic - highly doubt anything in my lifetime will ever top Goran's most unlikely run at 2001 Wimbledon
Safin - his dismantling of Sampras in the '00 USO final is the most sensational coming-out party I recall watching live
Henin - the only WTA player I've ever enjoyed watching as more than a dispassionate admirer
Djokovic - the frustrating early years of seeing his potential go wasted have more than paid off

Honorable mention: Rios (I'd also throw Korda in there if not for the doping)

With the exception of Boris I generally root for the underdogs. (Justine and Novak weren't the all-time greats we know them as today when they first earned my fandom.) Never liked dominance by one or two players. (Not the case in basketball, though. Maybe the team-individual dichotomy has something to do with it.)

All time, Sampras and Becker by ten country miles. Based on the amount of time I spend talking about it's Pete by some distance, but like I said Boris was my first guy and he'll always have my back barring a major unsavory revelation (a lovechild or two don't count).

I really don't have any dislikes, though Serena came close before she shed her well-deserved image as a sore loser, and Berdych can be a baby at times. But there's something I like about all players.

Yeah same I would have thrown Korda i was supporting him so hard since the 1st round when he won the Australian open. That come back against Bjorkman when down 2 sets to love was amazing. I know he was not caught for doping after this Australian open but still can't put him in my favourites anymore.

Other mentions for players i really liked in the nineties: Krajicek great grass game, Escude (same he was the main reason why France won the Davis cup over Australia on grass), I used to support Rusedski for a while too, not sure why but the way he beat Sampras in Paris Bercy final was brilliant. It was tough to be a Kafelnikov fan...he was a tank machine.

And if we have to mention players of the 80s even though i never watched tennis at that time, Connors surely would be top of the dislike list, no doubt.

Korda was probably doping already at the AO and got away with it. Remember it being a pretty big deal at the time... still don't think we should take away his title because Rios downright sucked in the final (easily the worst performance I've seen--the only one off the top of my head that comes close is Murray's in the '11 AO final) and of course it's quite possible others were/are cheating too, but yeah it became pretty hard to be a fan after that.

Loved Krajicek myself. Never liked Kafelnikov but I wouldn't say he was a tank machine per se. The correct term is money-grubber. I once read this article that quoted his coach at the time (probably Stefanki) moaning about how Yevgeny was playing too much and not focusing on results. In fact one time I was doing some '90s stats and I couldn't help but notice that he was always at or near the top of the yearly rankings in # of matches/games played, often the only one with over 1000 games played. Throw in the prize money from his doubles and you can see how he was able to afford a private jet. :p His joie de vivre seems to have gotten the better of him, though: I remember reading about his post-retirement financial woes and was shocked at his weight gain when I saw him play an exo with Edberg a few years ago. Unfortunate, but perhaps unsurprising. ;)

Honourable mentions to people like Rod Laver who seems like such a sound guy, but he's before my time, so is McEnroe and Agassi really but have seen a number of their matches on highlight videos and they just seem like interesting characters (although probably wouldn't be a fan of a player that behaved like McEnroe these days, but when you look back not having watched at the time, it's different), and I haven't seen much of Laver only a few quite poor quality videos.

More than five of course but I did five but kept thinking of other players. Ah well. Just count the first 5 I suppose

Dislike

Serena Williams

Maybe Sampras, Andy Roddick (didn't like his game or him when he was playing but have warmed to him since he retired).

Can't really think of any more hard to think of 5. There's only really one that I would say I properly dislike, I suppose you could put Raonic and Isner to round of the top 5 not got anything against them individually, it's just the worst style of tennis that they play to watch so I can't enjoy that.

That seems quite different from your first point - and is a lot more valid IMO. Fedal had huge established fanbases that were no doubt irked when their favorites were shut out of many important tournaments. I'm not sure if it's at all personal with Novak or even born out of a sense of entitlement. I think it's just a case of no one wants to see their favorites lose on a regular basis.

I also think Novak's game doesn't really have a niche from which to draw support from - perhaps because he came too late. Nadal has those that like to see raw fire and athleticism, Federer fans of the more classical style and artistry. He will be more appreciated in time. Like with many players he will be more appreciated when he starts to lose more I think. Being the underdog might help him.

Doesn't look like that will be for a while though.

This is one of those myths that tends to get believed the more it is repeated. There have been plenty of Slam finals that went worse for the loser than did the 2011 AO for Murray. Rios is far from alone. For instance, only the year before (1998) Moya won fewer games against Sampras than Murray did against Djokovic in 2011. The talented Mecir also achieved exactly the same score as Rios in his 1989 final against Lendl. Not to mention Federer's utterly dire performance against Nadal at 2008 FO winning only FOUR games, less than HALF the number Murray won at 2011 AO. I could go on and on but you get my point?

The 2011 AO final was certainly Murray's worst ever in his 4 AO finals but let's get a bit of perspective please. In the Grand Slam Losing Final Hall of Shame, there are many more worthy candidates to consider along with those I've just mentioned!

I'm not necessarily talking quality of opposition (though of course that's part of it), but rather lack of effort and/or handling of nerves. Rios seemed utterly unfit for the occasion and often just go through the motions like an overawed child. Your guy OTOH at least made some effort at first, which is why I don't put his performance at the rock bottom of my hall of shame.
