Walk Right In, Tsitsipas Right Down, Stefanos Let Your Game Roll On!

I think he just got greedy - read somewhere that he was going to pull out of Marseille but they upped his fee + gave little brother the doubles WC.

Actually maybe not personally greedy but papa said you gotta?
I am sure he travelled more and played more matches for squiddly points on the challenger/future circuit than he has done in the last three weeks. There is is no tennis Federation Money behind Stefanos, it has all been achieved through his family support.
I am sure he will adjust his schedule if he keeps getting to business end of major tournaments. At the moment he is trying to make a name for himself and crack the top ten.

He does like to play backhands ala Gaquet style though, a lot of shape and width to the cross-court stroke (loopy), which does give him options for the run around forehand (his backhand DTL ;)) I do enjoy watching him open up the court like that. Against better movers and defenders, it's obviously a little harder to execute and he does have to rely on the backhand DTL more frequently.

Epic celebrations of Greek fans after Stefanos win over Federer. :happydevil:

Reaction in Spain after VAMOS crushed him in the semis.

What do you guys make of Stefanos' game so far?
Apart from everything you said, I also noted that he was able to hit pretty good shots on the stretch, in a let's say less than classical form. Looks like he has good feel, allowing him to handle tricky shots creatively.

I don't see much discussion of his stamina/fitness, at least on this page. He has the tendency to look exhausted at later stages in the match. I haven't seen enough matches to know if that ever gets him in trouble though. Maybe it's just body language but he actually feels pretty good?

Since the start of 2018 he is a decent 20-13 in deciding sets so it might be more body language.

He does not have to sacrifice his court position too much like Gasquet. Most of his CC BHs are hit when he stands close to the baseline.

Not hirnig another coach than papi seems greedy too.

Will be interesting to see what he does in Dubai. It's his 18th singles match of the year already, and I imagine he wants some rest before IW/Miami. He also needs a semi final if he wants to gain points in the rankings. Would not be surprised a semi tank
Semi tank is officially off at this point.

if he plays the mighty fed in the final would he tank so that that can get his hundred victory before he retires at the end of this year

I don't think so. This kid has the brain of a champion and he wants to win whoever he plays.

Bc of the genius decision of having 3 slams within a 3 months span (RG19 ends June 9th and USO19 starts August 26th), while there's a long 4 months gap between AO and RG. :censored::mad::mad:
It’s because of the climates of the three cities that have hosted these slams for a hundred years. What would you do? Play USO in another city warmer earlier in the year? Move one of them indoors on the millions you are personally going to pay to construct enough roofed stadiums to hold 400 plus matches?

Good questions. I don't know the climate of their geographic locations, month-to-month. Can RG 'only' be played starting May 20th? Even though MC can be played April 13th? If RG could start sooner (assuming weather in the general area for the European clay swing is similar), then I'd imagine they could eliminate MC, and move Barca/Madrid/Rome/RG up.
This would free up the needed time to have Queens and Halle in different weeks. Heck, they'd likely be able to fit in a grass Masters if they put effort into it, no?

Paris is much cooler at the start of May than the end...average high is 12.5 C (54.5 F) on May 1, about 30% lower than the end of the month. That’s not pleasant weather for fans or players.

It’s also not about eliminating one M1K to accommodate your suggestion. You would be uprooting all the leadup tournaments...Madrid in April is quite rainy and cool. Much the same in Rome.

I’m also sure the players need tournaments on clay before going up to M1K level. Switching from one M1K on HC (Miami) directly to another mandatory M1K in Madrid without some tuneup? That’s not going to fly with the players.

Also, I believe 3 of the 4 majors fall in local holidays, exception I think being Roland Garros, and I'm pretty sure that with all the dumb pandering to casual fans it would be undone if they did major relocation/rescheduling. Casual fans will associate Slams a lot with the time period in it.

Wimby celebrates getting rid of the nasty ‘Muricans on 4 July???

Yis, yis, i cyannot wait for thees metch. Wait ... so which one is tha bool-shyeet Russian?
Greek God’s grandfather was no bullsheet Bolshevik...he won gold medal in soccer for USSR. mdvdv left Mother Russia to train in Nice but not with half-Greek Patrick Mouratoglou and his academy near Antibes. Hence, the Rooskie rub gets played up even more.

I dont understand why so many people dont like this guy. He has the heart of a champion. Look at the way he prowls the baseline. He also Has a lot Of charisma and some b@!!s. I like him and I like his game. For those who think he is rude, he is joining many who came before him and were very successful. Many also matured as they hit 22 or so. We shall see what happens in the future. The next gen is exciting to me right now.

He thinks he's a good guy but he's a little kid who don't know how to fight.

I root for the kid's success because he's good for the sport, but his personality is a bit of a turnoff. The fake inspirational quotes. The occasional twerpy attitude on court.

Still he's not as bad as Zed and someone has to step up.

I like his personality. I find him charismatic
