Want to hit like the Stanimal?

Should be in Tennis Tips area.

Anyway, a signature piece of the puzzle is Stan's well-known upper body strength to be able to 'muscle' through the ball more than the usual one-hander suspects. I am not sure this is repeatable through technique only personally.

Yes and make sure you're using a 360 swingweight tree log

I'd been doing so for over a year on a 362g (340's sw?) kps88. (going to try a used ktour 90 soon; seems lighter and maybe easier on the elbow and wrist)
I've never really tried to emulate any major pro's 1hbh, but I like Henin's bh, Stan's "low" cc bh, and Thiem's aggresive slice, and I sometimes try to observe their footwork 1hbh prep if nothing else.
