Warning! Plantar Fasciitis, Heel Spur Problem with Wilson Tour Shoe

ok, I have been reading comments/reviews on the wilson tour and here is what others have to say:

I just wish Chris from TW would give us his take on this:

Chris "Without a doubt this is my favorite Wilson shoe. I was very impressed with the Crossfire II, but the Tour blows it away. I thought the level of comfort, traction and durability was up there with any of the leading performance shoes currently on the market." The heel cushioning felt very plush when landing and felt responsive when transitioning from heel to toe."

Chris read below from your customers: All had heel problems like me.

Comments: I was really excited to try these shoes, they look good, felt good out of the box, but I was really disappointed with the heel support, it felt like my heel touched court when running hard for a ball. I'll stay with my Nikes.

Comments: These shoes feel real good with light hitting, but when you run hard for a ball and stop the vent piece digs into your heel. Not recommended for advanced players.

unless I wear heavy thorlo socks the plastic arch hurts me. Traction was good on clay but the fine herringbone pattern has caused some alarming slips on hard courts. Unless the shoes are really strapped tight some piece is causing pain on sudden stops to my heel. Apologies, but I cannot recommend this shoe, unless you have high arches & play on clay.

They are the most uncomfortable shoes on the tennis court. I felt like every time I tried to make a quick stop there was something poking my foot. I ended up with a blister in a spot I have never blistered before from any pair of shoes. It is the worst pair of tennis shoes I have ever purchased. I am a good open level player and do not recommend these for anyone.

When I played in the shoes, it was a different story. Everything you read here about the ventilation slots causing discomfort is true. The hard plastic slots were unnoticeable at the store, yet on court they were extremely painful. Every time I would plant my feet on court the vents would jam into my arches. Ouch. Took them back for a full refund the next week. I am a 4.0 player and play a couple times a week.

I agree with the poster about the hard plastic ventilation slots digging into the bottom of the foot. There is just not enough cushioning to prevent it.

hard ventilation "block" in mid foot digs into bottom of my foot.

My personal opinion, FWIW, and I play Wilson sticks, is their shoes are not given any attention by the company. They are subbed out to some factory that doesn't keep up with the needs and desires of tennis players. If WIlson reads this, I hope they stick some money into that operation instead of milking it as they seem to be doing.

Oh, and I've tried three different models of Wilson shoes. None of them worked for me. I now use them for painting, changing my oil, and cleaning the horse manure out of the barn. I'd say that's too good for them.

I got pf from some old wilson shoes about two years ago. I started with some white shoes of thiers that I can't remember what they were called. Then I went to the crossfire sl and they were comfortable, but gave no support. Since I was sponsored by them, I stayed with them until the pain was unbearable. I then bought some Reebok MDPs that were on sale and another year and a half down the road got custom made inserts made. Along with stretching properly, I am finally seeing improvement. It all started with the Wilsons. Also, I have tried the Tours, and the Opens, and others, and they all kill my feet. Stay away and go see a podiatrist.

I had a problem like this. I develop huge blisters where the arch meets the heel. And in both cases their was a hole in the insert, all the way through, up to that place on my heel. I wasn't able to run or cut for several days.
