Djoker got all sentimental and teary-eyed during the trophy ceremony.

Do you think he was being sincere when he said "I love you" to the crowd
or was it theater?

He thought it was love and affection, but the crowd just wanted to see more tennis. :)

I think he was sincere, even though the crowd was not.
I thought Raul was the I’ve never attended the USO behind the keyboard expert on the crowd? Where is Raul. I miss Raul.

No, they crowd mainly felt what a monumental disappointment it must be for Djokovic.
So close and yet so far...

Let's see. Novak was shaking with sobs during the changeover after the crowd chanted his name. He was crying as things were being prepared for the trophy ceremony. He teared up again thanking the crowd for making him feel special, saying he never felt like this. That's not just sentimental, that's a man baring his soul out there. Some of you people need to work on improving your EQ.

Definitely sincere. My question is whether Djokovic will ever be the same player again now that he's achieved his lifelong goal of finally receiving the love and adoration of the fans.

All kidding aside, it was a heart-felt moment and great to see. The NY crowd finally gave this legend the warm greeting and cheers that he's deserved all along. And Novak was emotionally receptive to all of it.

When you go these events, the petty arguments all go out the window when you are there. I did everything that I could to see each of the the Big 3 play whenever I was there. I love watching all 3 of them play. Now granted, I like one much more than the other two. But that's not the point. The point is that all of these guys are a must-see when you are there in person.

Yeah, I'm all for fun ribbing, but when he is having diaphragmatic sobs while draping his face with a towel and an occasional camera angle catches the most agonized look of sadness on his face, I'm going to believe he was genuine with his emotions during that 20-minute window.

Thank you! All the last 3 USO runner up speeches have been incredibly heartfelt and genuine, but this one hit me the hardest.

Fedal fans really getting their knickers in a twist because Djoker got (deserved and overdue) love from the Ashe crowd. We all know he has wanted this response for the last 13 years, ever since he would pull out those imitations to ingratiate himself to the crowds. It was obviously a genuine reaction.

Just to be clear.
I'm not talking about whether his tears of agony closing out the match and
during the ceremony were sincere.
He clearly saw his grand slam evaporating before his eyes and certainly got emotional.

The poll is whether his "I love you" to the crowd was sincere.
There is a difference.
