See these:

I played pretty good tennis but perhaps it was too quick a turn around and Rafa was playing really well.
Q: You had a couple of late evening matches and tough. How are you physically.

Fed throws in a possible reason for his loss and interviewer runs with it.

Again:

Q: Roger. You say you are healthy and I am convinced you are. The Twitter world says you are not and the speed of your serve was 174 and the second 160 …..

See how the interviewer continues to hint that Fed is not healthy, and implies it is noble for Fed to claim otherwise.

What do you guys think? Legitimate or another example of media bias against Nadal?

Well he was wearing a back brace during the tournament, so he might still be having back problems. He'll be 32 this year, and he can't really grind at all anymore, otherwise he'd be out longer than Nadal.

They know Fed came from a long layoff and played poor the last tournament.

They want to build up Fed's potential for RG I assume, in other words, Fed isn't at his best yet but will be much better for RG.
They are probably right in that.

Definitely some sort of bias against nadal.Fed keeps insisting that he is healthy but the guy keeps on with the speed of the second serve.

I'm not healthy watching that crap fest they call Fedal.

Over an hour of my life wasted for what?

Pfft...

and no one ever asks Nadal about his knee / every other ailment, he has mentioned he had?

Nadal is a lot more open about his injuries than Roger. Nadal is also pretty famous for his injuries, so I don't think people need to bring it up to him about it all the time since he is vocal about it himself.

A Nadal bias? Really?

You don't think a reporter has ever asked a follow up question when they think the interviewee isn't answering fully?

People complain constantly about the watered down PC answers from everyone, but as soon as a reporter tries to get past it, it's a bias against a different player.

What's the re-occurrence rate of mono? He seems to be sweating excessively this year. The last time I saw sweat marks on his shirt was when he played with mono and just dealt with it?

Fed was serving at 82% in the 1st set. His back wasn't even a problem. Just an off day, and when you play ultra-aggressive on an off day shots go everywhere, Fed just played like Tsonga normally does but worse.

Fed fans were complaining about the raw deal he got with the schedule on the match threads. It is understandable since he is old and having less recovery time compared to a much younger opponent will hurt his chances. Why can't Fed ask for a better schedule with the organizers ? I am sure they won't deny him. I think Nadal is much better in that he asks what he wants and gets it (He hardly ever plays night sessions if he can avoid it). That way he'd be well rested for the final.

The thing with the Masters Events is that a player has to play matches every day.And when someone starts with an evening match he pretty much gets an evening match all the way through. With a day between like in the slams there is more flexibilty regarding the schedule.
U don`t expect for instance Federer to finish his match vs Janowicz at midnight and then get the afternoon match the next day.

But isn't that exactly what happened between the semifinals and the final ? Anyone playing the night matches and the second semi is at a distinct disadvantage that way. Why can't he ask the organizers to give him day matches all round the week ?

He's wearing compression vest so the sweat shows up much more. He's not suddenly sweating heaps more.

Q: He has played 19 matches in 33 days and won 18. You know how hard this is and how it takes you out of you. Are you surprised at the scale of his com back and that he is fit and fast as ever.

R. Federer: Not really and the surprise was is Indian Wells but he didn't have to play Novak who was in tip top shape and took advantage of the draw and the two 50s and 500 that he played in S America and then he did the whole Monaco, Madrid, Barcelona, Rome stretch so many times that you know he will do the semis or the finals and so it is impressive to see him do it every year – he is not going to come back 20% fit and only come back when he was 100% healthy and so every player should take their time to come back and now he is the favourite for the French Open

Federer is really an expert when it comes to taking advantage of draws, isn't he? The man knows what he is talking about because he has loads of experience on that.

Also, not only did he bash every opponent of Nadal's at IW for being not good enough, Djokovic the world no.1 even in tip top shape is so weak, he couldn't even make the final. Classy fed just classy!

Federer went from having matches in the evening to having the final in the hotter sunny humid day..

the conditions would have been slower so that wouldn't have helped his timing.

anyway its too bad for federer..good for rafa/****.

As a Federer fan, I was quite happy with his performance in Rome. He was rusty in his return at Madrid and lost early. To see him flash better form and make the finals of the Rome Masters was as much as I'd hoped for when the tournament started. The odds were always heavily in favor of Nadal or Djokovic winning.

For Federer fans, the Rome performance/result was good news heading into Roland Garros and, more importantly, Wimbledon. His chances of winning the French, as always, are contingent upon Nadal being eliminated - should that happen, Federer has a chance to beat anyone else he plays. And at Wimbledon, he can beat anyone. To me, Rome says he's in a good place to maximize his chances of winning either of those slams.

I could care less about another loss to Nadal on clay. It is what it is.

 You can't be serious, in his current form?

I like Federer a lot, and I don't think he was injured.

He made a final because his draw was the biggest cakewalk ever.

Then he met a real opponent and his form which has been pretty horrible was exposed.

Outside of the AO where he played pretty well and met an inspired Murray, he's played very poorly BY HIS STANDARDS.

Unless something changes I expect that depending on the draw that his QF streak is VERY MUCH in jeopardy at the FO.

My only hope is that he's been semi-sandbagging and is planning to man up for the Grass season and USO series.

I don't even care if he blows the FO..
