Was Federer at a age/form disadvantage in his H2H vs Djokovic overall?

I voted slight disadvantage at the time. I thought form in many of the big matches significantly closed the gap but I did think it somewhat.

that's what happens in case of younger ATGs vs older ATGs typically (when they play sufficient # of matches). Which is why younger ATGs have the h2h advantage,



and if is further gap, obviously as well, like Fed-Agassi is 8-3

So this also means Fed being too consistent hurt him even with the age gap.

yep. for example, fed was 6-4 in Bo3 in 14-early 16 vs Djoko and 0-4 in slams.

Federer scored exactly 2 big wins vs prime Djoko: 2011 RG + 2012 W.

There were some solid wins after 2012, none of them was exactly "big" or very significant.

Djoko had not play great in the QF/SF vs Cilic/Dimi in Wim 14 SF. Had won 1 of the previous 9 slams from RG 12 to RG 14 (AO 13).
Unexpected that he raised his level in the Wim 14 final as much as he did.
