Was he really Carlos Bernardes?

We always fear the unknown, the “other” that we can’t explain. We are afraid of things we don’t understand. We are always trying to understand everything, when we discover something that doesn’t quite make sense, we try our best to solve it.

The recent events on Rod Laver Arena have shocked us to the core. To see an umpire, who used to be fair, actively gaslight someone for demanding the rules to be followed is really eye opening. We are left with quite a lot of unanswered questions.

When Rafa said, "better for both of us if we are not (on a) court at the same time for a while" back in 2015, did his words have a deeper meaning?

What really happened to Bernardes after that incident? Is he still the same man? Or did he get 'replaced'? I mean, they say everyone has a doppelgänger.

Other umpires have a good reason not to mess with the Nadal. And they know it.

Denis interrupted Nadal's serve (when the shot clock was at 8) and called the chair umpire "corrupt".
The commentators then showed on the screen that Denis was only 2 seconds faster than Nadal between service points, so Denis had no reason to complain.
As for the stomach ailment, is Nadal not allowed to be sick?
This Denis guy is a psycho, and hopefully will be banned.

I wonder, if you have a clue what Shapo complained about.

@peoplespeace Shirley you have a take here.

Beyond my pay grade folks!
The only thing we know for sure is that we cant know for sure what is going on. The other thing that is almost sure is that it is a peace of theater using indirect communication. We cannot know if it is purely issues internal to the atp or if they also aim at us, spectators. Possibly both. My best guess is that it has do with the fact that the other players are not happy that Nadal vs Mannarino played a fake tiebreak that is now considered historic by many. One thing is to create fake drama for the spectators, another altogether to enter the history books by means of fakeness.

However, I think that they should then take info account that Murray was gifted at an Olympic gold medal an probably at least one Wimbledon title by "The man"!

PS In the future pls dont call me Shirley!

It has been reported that he had a heart attack in the quarantine hotel room prior to the AO. I don't know how appropriate this is to say but people, who get their second chance to live, change a little in character. Anyhow, getting back on stage (to that chair on court) for an umpire in such a short time is incredible.

Now THIS is quality posting! Well done, good sir!

We all know how Bernardes became a Nadal minion. But anyone knows how did Dumusois become one? In my opinion, he’s the worst.

Shameful how Carlos Bernardes (or whoever that may be) used his walkie-talkie to provoke a player who is known to be volatile.

That too at a really crucial stage of the first set.

Thereafter, he left no stone unturned to penalize him for the subsequent meltdowns and cost him the entire match in the process.

What's wrong with him? :cautious:

The seconds are counted at the umpire's discretion. If you time it yourself, you will see the real difference and privilege.

Thread of the year. Should be bumped anytime it falls of the first page.
To answer the thread- I have no clue, but my mind will ponder this endlessly.
