The 2010-2019 decade cannot be considered the greatest of all time due to the fact that from 2018 onwards Federer is too old and declined and loses to weaker players in Slams like Millman, Anderson, Tsitsipas and company.

The 2006-2015 decade is the greatest ever, as it encapsulates most peak years of Federer, Nadal and Djokovic,

2006-2015 decade total Slams:

Nadal 13
Federer 11
Djokovic 10

Was Nadal the greatest in the greatest era in tennis?

And 2006-2015 wasn’t a decade.
A decade = any period of 10 years. Decades can start each year. 2006-2015 is definetely a decade.

According to English dictionaries, a decade has two meanings.

1. A period of ten years.

2. A period of ten years beginning with a year ending in 0.

So yes, following the first meaning, a decade can start a year not ending in 0.

Check this example of how it can be used without the year starting in 0:

Depends when you start, but your years are much better as far as era goes then the ones @Lew II picked. You can argue your years were the greatest decade, Lew cant.

"Much better"?

Big3 were just as good in 2010-19, plus you had peak Murray and Wawrinka.

2010-19 had 6 different slam winners while 2006-15 had 7 different slam winners.

And Nadal was not even the clear best of 2006-15. He was #1 less time than both Federer and Djokovic in that timespan.

So why are we talking about Big3? The greatest decade is 1994-2003 with 19 different slam winners.
I never said we should, you guys brought up the greatest player in the greatest era. I am just arguing that the decade you picked was not the "greatest" era at all.

So now 2006-2015 is a decade. The desperation is going to a new level.

Let me put it simple. None of Federer, Nadal, or Djokovic were the greatest in the greatest decade. Even if one of those winds up as the GOAT, that won't change.

The greatness of Nadal is his longevity and consistency not his peaking dominance at any particular point. There have been times in which Fed and Djoker have utterly dominated the tour to a point where you can’t imagine anyone else winning the next event (aside from perhaps RG). Rafa has never really had a period like that. 2013 was as close as it gets I guess but his dominance of the tour then was not comparable to say Mid 2000s Fed or 2011/15 Djokovic

Well, sure. But then we can also use the definition of a year as any period of 365 days and do away with the 'Nole Slam' and just give Djokovic credit as the last tennis player to win the Grand Slam. But I doubt most want to use that definition, so we use the more traditionally accepted definition when discussing these things.

That's me owned.

Nadal 08-10 was the best player I have ever seen probably since following tennis . Sampras 93-95 and Fed 05-06 close overrall though. Djokers 2011 and 2015 was crazy good but just a tad below Nadal Pete and Fed at their best. Musters peak was crazy good though in 95

I’ve watched them all live and in person over various times since ‘95. Nadals peak is the best I’ve seen in 30 years

Can’t comment on Mac and Connor’s Lendl laver etc. before I started watching. I can only judge based on the last 29-30 years

Djokovic 2011, 2015 and even 2021/2023 exposes Nadal 08-10 and Federer 05-06 easy. Those two are products of "Djokovic started a glutein free diet too late in 2011".

Federer had a negative H2H with Murray..... Nadal 08-10 is just a product of a stylistic nightmare for a one handed backhand Federer nightmare. But they were great, sure. Just not a Djokovic's level.

2011 djokovic at his absolute peak almost lost 2 slams in a calendar year to 30 year old Fed. So… no absolutely not

Love the creativity going on here! lol

Greatest 'decade', was 2008 until 2023, gave us 24 GS = goat 'decade' !

;)

Slam wise without question. How close to slams are M1000's is the question id like someone within the game to answer.

Nadal can't dominate like them. He is clay specialist but has had good success in slams outside.

His career overall is 63 clay and 29 non clay titles.

No chance to dominate like fedkovic
No chance to dominate number 1 rankings.

When djokovic had 223 , Nadal who is a year older , had 102 or something.

Will go with novak wining four slam consecutively. 2015 WB USO 2016 AO FO
No matter how you look at it roger and rafa never acheived this feat.

2004-2013
Most Slams : Federer 16, Nadal 13, Djokovic 6, Murray 2, Safin 1
Most Titles : Federer 66, Nadal 61, Djokovic 41, Murray 28, Roddick 21
Year end 1: Federer - 5, Nadal 3, Djokvoic 2

2014-2023
Most Slams : Djokovic 18, Nadal 9, Federer 3, Wawrinka 3, Alcaraz 2
Most Titles : Djokovic 57, Nadal 31, Federer 26, Zverev 21, Mugvedev 2
Year end 1 : Djokovic 6, Nadal 2, Murray 1, Alcaraz 1

Nadal never had his own era/decade/whatever you would like to call it. He was always Claydal.

Decade: A period of 10 years, but not necessarily in order. Mcenroe is GOAT for the decade covering 1979, 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984, and 1999-2002

A decade can start at any time. We are currently entering the first hour of the 6 p.m. EST/midnight European on 20/21 October - 6 p.m./midnight European on 20/21 October 2024-2034 decade.

Also, yes, Nadal was greatest between 2006 and 2015, inclusive. By small margin but yes.
