Was that inconsistency of Wawrinka come from his main Weapon-Onehanded Backhand?

Is that inconsistency of Wawrinka come from his main Weapon-Onehanded Backhand? You know Stan has a very powerful Onehanded backhand but he is not consistent at all! His strategy based on his shot from the baseline and I think it drains stamina and lower accuracy and you can't compete with those two handed backhand in long Rallies. And Dominic Thiem is going to become a new Wawrinka so I dont think he can play well in the future with alot of Two handed monsters from the baseline.

Major reason is his head.

Technically speaking about his game, factors contributes to his inconsistency:

* Streaky Forehand. It could fluctuate from striking weapon to error prone shot from tournament to tournament.

* Weak Ros and very low margin of error game which is solely based on blowing opponents off the court.
* Mediocre defense which doesn't allow him Grind his
way
to win like Djokovic, Nadal, especially when he has off day.
* He takes ball late, his grip and average slice which makes extremely tough to implement his game on fast, low bouncing courts.

That pretty much nails it.

To comment on your points...

1. Streaky Forehand - not uncommon for aggressive players in this era. All you can do is keep working at it (and it has improved over the years).
2. Weak Return - he should be a better returner. At this point, he should probably adopt a more aggressive return strategy.
3. Mediocre Defense - again, it seems he should be a little better in this area. He's not an all-world mover, but he moves well enough to be a better defender, IMO.
4. Again, I agree. Not much he can do here. Too late in the game to make this dramatic a change.

# Average arm serve, not allowing him to use his weapons.
