Stan has now hired 1996 Wimbledon champion Richard Krajicek to help him with his grass game. Seems like he's ready to go all out and make a move on what has been his worst surface so far!

World No. 5 Stan Wawrinka has bolstered his coaching team for the grass-court swing by adding 1996 Wimbledon champion Richard Krajicek.

Krajicek, who is the tournament director of the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament, will join Wawrinka's regular coach, former World No. 2 Magnus Norman, and Yannick Fattebert over the next four weeks.

"As I'm always looking to improve on court, I would like to take this opportunity to announce that I have added Richard Krajicek to my existing coaching staff to help during the grass court season for the next four weeks," Wawrinka wrote on his Twitter feed.

"Magnus, Yannick and I are really excited about the new addition to our team - adding a former Wimbledon champion can only further my knowledge and understanding of the grass. It's a real privilege and honour to add such a champion to my corner."

The 31-year-old Swiss will compete at next week's Aegon Championships in London.

Wawrinka has reached the quarter-finals at The Championships, Wimbledon, for the past two years. In 2014 he lost to his Swiss compatriot Roger Federer and last year he fell to Richard Gasquet.

Haha, I knew he'd already hired Krajicek but then I was like "he hired Gasquet as well?!".

Never mind Mainad, we all make mistakes. ;)

Lol...I don't know where I got the idea of Gasquet! Maybe because he was the last thing mentioned in the article? ;)

Admittedly it would have been even more intriguing though! :D

Yes we all make mistakes but the ultimate loser is the one when the truth comes to him he rejects it as false who can be worse than the one who had declared war on reality?

He'll be 35 by the time he's finished that lot but I guess it's doable. ;)
don't worry...the swiss peak at that age as I have been told. But actually..Fedr is about to be 35 and playing best tennis of his life in TiebreakGOATerer against Mayer and sneaking out win against baby sampras Fritz, and Hingis is also 35 and playing best tennis of her life in winning all the doubles titles.

Don't worry xFedal. I always make allowances for whenever you lose the war with reality!

He ruined Rafa's double Career Grand Slam dream at AO and Novak's Career Grand Slam dream at FO, though temporarily.

Watch Federer beat Djokovic in the semifinal of Wimbledon, but then Wawrinka will troll him so hard in the final, destroying his dreams of #18.

Would take Grampa beating Peak Djokovic any day.

Better Someone other than Novak winning Wimbledon even at Federer expense.

Don't want to sound pessimistic, but it takes time until new coaches have some effect on players game and mentality. For this Wimbledon it will have only psychological effect.
It is nice though that Wawrinka decided to be more serious about his tennis.

Best to place him in Andy's half of the draw then? ;)
It will work out to everyone's benefit.

Andy to take out Stan for Novak... Novak to take out Roger for Andy. Andy v. Novak in the final again because we know that's what the public so desperately wants to see again ;)

If it promises to be like 2013 I can assure you they will be desperate to see it again! :)

I love Wawa's game, but I don't see Krajicek improving his movement (especially not at the age of 31) or return on grass. It is still a surface that gives less time to a player than any other with the lowest ball bounce. All these factors don't allow Stan to be in his comfort zone.

Krajicek could possibly improve Wawrinka's serve, even though it is big enough now, but it lacks the consistency.
