Wawrinka hires KRAJICEK

Me too, I just think it won't be enough. We shall see soon, anyway. ;)
That's what it sounded like from Krajicek's interview. :) I think he wants to help Stan harness that big serve of his and give himself better options at the net.

Tennis would win, just as it did in last year's Wimby QF!
Those two need to play each other more often in slams. That's twice that they produced tennis porn over 5 sets.

They will just get drunk together and hit on young girls...............all day and all night ................... definitely good or bad move by Stan depends on how you look at it.................lol

I love Wawa's game, but I don't see Krajicek improving his movement (especially not at the age of 31) or return on grass. It is still a surface that gives less time to a player than any other with the lowest ball bounce. All these factors don't allow Stan to be in his comfort zone.

Krajicek could possibly improve Wawrinka's serve, even though it is big enough now, but it lacks the consistency.

Wawrinka's movement is fine IMO. He doesnt move as well as the big 4, but he moves better than most of the tour. He certanly is not slow like Krajicek himself used to be.

Weird-ish hire. Admittedly, I did not watch tennis when Krajicek played. He won Wimby in 1996. But his results before then at SW19 were ok and his results then after were good. I see he lost a tough one in the semis against Goran on year. Hmm..

I'm just happy Wawrinka is making moves to improve his game. Can't stay complacent.

Grass is the biggest hole left in his career, he hasn't even won an ATP 250 on grass. Looks like Wimbledon is the title he will be gunning for during his remaining years. If he can tweak his game perhaps with some lower cutting slices, a better 1st serve % and tactical adjustments he is not without a shot at winning it IMO. He's got the power of serve, forehand, backhand and ability around the court. I think 2 other areas he can get caught out is sometimes he bricks volleys in the forecourt and his forehand approach shot from the forecourt is not good enough at times and he can get passed by the best (Djokovic, Murray, Federer, etc)

Then again, neither has Djokovic! ;)

I will be interested to see how Stan modifies his return of serve on the forehand side. If Stan can do that he will be a threat to win the tournament.

How about Stich? Reminds me of Krajicek in many ways and, moreover, he and Becker hate each other so would make for a fascinating rivalry! :)

Stich is a good shout. Similar in height to Murray and a more natural mover than other guys at his height like Krajicek, Rusedski, Ivanisevic, Phillippoussis. For Murray, it is all about transitioning to net to make things happen to complement his baseline game; in other words, take the initiative more often and put himself in a winning position. He was able to do that in the first set of the French Open final but hasn't figured out how to do it for three sets to win the titles.
