I heard from Yonex that a new Duel G will be released (or at least announced) next week at the Yonex trade fair in Tokyo. Not sure about anything else as of yet, as Yonex are being very tight-lipped about it. Should be interesting to see what comes in the coming days...

There has been chatter here it will be called the vcore pro. Someone said it would be 16x19, which I hope isn’t true.

TW got blacked out samples sometime in late Nov or Dec.

Stock on the VCORE SV is low as well. Seems too early to be replacing that line, but interesting observation? Especially with the Kerber (and other pro players) currently playing blacked out frames.

A Yonex rep came by my club yesterday and he confirmed that it will be a 16/19. He also mentioned that the frames should be coming out in February

Stan won't be hitting with it, but his paint will be upgraded. 16/19 in a 97? No thanks.
The V-Core SV95 is 16/20 and even that is too much for me!

Thanks for the updates guys. Looking forward to getting a look at this one. February release date sounds much better, but I probably won't be able to demo it for a bit :(

Don't worry, with Yonex, they say things are 'launched' whenever... expect another month before you can actually find something to buy on TW and a month after that before demos become available - especially for new racquet models.

Yonex and Wilson relaunch and revamp racquets far too often.

Are you saying they're constantly launching new racquets or are you saying they're updating a particular line/model too often (about every 24 months)?

Duel G is 16x20 and has a ridiculously high top main. I don’t know that it will affect middle string bed density. If I recall I once measured middle 4x4 of Duel G to be as tight or tighter than blade 98 18x20.

That wouldn’t surprise me, I think the blade isn’t more than average density for a 18x20. Yonex doesn’t make a 18x20 and this is the densest frame currently on their roster. It’s similar to a prestige or 6.1 18x20 in its general density which is one of the main reasons I like it and the Tour G.

It might be the same in the center, I’m not excited for them to mess with something I already liked though.

There are many manufacturers who add strings outside the hitting zone making those extra mains/crosses less useful than you'd think based on their number alone.

The RDS 001 Midplus was 16x19 and that’s a great racket. I still have one, my dad played with it and whenever I lend it to someone, 5.5 and above, they love it.
I would love Yonex to bring back a 16x18 90sq in frame like the RDS 001 Mid, I played with that one and loved it. Right now I’m really happy with my VCore 89 Tours, fear it’s the last 89/90 sq in racket Yonex will ever produce.

So I've seen the new Duel G Pro... It's pretty dark..not a huge leap from the current frame... 16×19 and a 97 and 100 edition. Some new technology that probably doesn't work... lol

That's for Japan. There may be an HG model for the US and Europe, but I'm not sure

Yeah, looks rather weird, as it's a pretty light blue. Check out the racquets section for the thread on the frame, there's links to better pictures
