Wawrinka uses real Flexpoint Prestige!!!
You can really see the flexpoints!
yes, the holes look real to me.
He looks like Brad Pitt.
more importantly, where is he ranked? hehe nice racket, though.
im not sure about that. It could just be that the paint is dark where the holes are, and it blends in with his shirt something. If there was a larger, better quality picture, i would be convicned.
No, the holes are real b/c you can see the strings thru them.
I'm not sure if they didn't only painted the bumper.
Also all of the players using the fxp prestige arn't using pj's, young etc
You can see an obvious indentation along the edge of the frame where the white plastic flexpoint bumper guard is. Compare to shots of Agassi's obvious pj where the white plastic circles are clearly stuck on and flush with the frame.
Of course someone will chime in any minute with a definitive:
"it's a freakin' paint job"
which will surely settle the matter
Than how do you explain this but cap? it does not look like a stock one? looks like PC one and look at the top of the handle
that picture is not that convincing
I strung his stick a few weeks ago and it is NO flexpoint - just painted.
Head-Strong - that's a good observation.....but the answer is not as simple as you may think. Head puts that black buttcap you see on Wawrinka's prestige on all their pro's rackets. Take Gasquet for example - he uses a real LM Instinct XL but still uses that black buttcap. So if you were to look at any pro's head racket you would see that black buttcap.
haha. pls dun joke.
What is it than? on all pics it looks like a genuine FXP
If you know something, then tell us.
Like most of the Head 630 players it seems to be a PT 630 or anything out of this mold.
True...the two piece, two color, trap door butt caps are made for the racquets sold at retail.
One reason for the different caps for the pro's sticks is that it makes it easier to tune the rackets. If you fill silicon into the grip it's very difficult through the trap door caps because the silicon comes out after more than 10 gr. With the black butt caps you only drill a hole into the cap and fill in the silicon. Due to the closed cap it can't come out again.
today i talked to the player named COUTELOT, Nicolas(FRA), who once was 87 in the rankings, so he said that nobody plays with flexpoint prestige inside 200. He plays with prestige classic under flexpoint PJ. I have asked him if he ever tried real LM or FX prestige, and he said never, because he has been playing with the prestige classic for 20 year so, he does not need anything new. I said to him that the new racquets have more power and so on, and he replyed with the smile - does Federer need extra power, and i said probably no, and he said he does not need either. He showed me one of his racquets and it looked pretty heavy. i play by myself with LM prestige and prestige classic, however his racquet looked much more heavier. he showed me the lead tape under the bumperguard. He said all the customisation is done by head, they know his specs. and send the racquets ready for the match. So i doubt that Wawrinka plays with real FX.
It is pretty common that tour players have not even tried the latest models of the racquets they endorse.
Here's another pic of him, looks like there really are the holes. Of course, it's not a stock FXP Prestige, but there are holes:
Also, Paolo Lorenzi is a top 200 pro who uses a real FXP Prestige. It weighs around 360 grams and has the holes.
I was at the Open today and spent a little time watching a juniors doubles match on a side court. One is able to get right next to the players and I noticed one had a PJ Flexpoint Prestige, with fake painted dimples on the head.
I have to say, the flexpoint prestige is a sweet looking stick (regardless of how it plays).
They showed a couple close-ups during his USO match last night and the holes were very clearly there, definitely not painted on.
wawrinka, acasuso, and carlos berlocq use real flexpoints...fact
:!: Can u guys be less speculative!!!
Obviously every Pro Player (can easily) customize rackets, so i think this is a ridicoulus discussion. About that picture i surelly can see the holes. If it is real FXP technology or no, no one can answer.
I have 2 FXP Prestige and love the way i play since i bought it.
Sometimes i see posts about what is the best racket and i think the best racket is the one who fits your gameplay. If there was a "better" one, all players would use it.
More effective discussion is about what string to use according to racket and style of play.
And that's my problem - still didnt found best string to my FXP Prestige.
P.S. - PJ or no is a beatiful stick:grin:
