Del potro won 2009 US open beating nadal and federer.
Wawrinka won 2014 AO open beating djokovic and nadal.
Who will be more remembered if they end up their career as one slam wonder?
Wawrinka? Or Del potro?

I don't think it will depend on the slam, since both paths were equally difficult. I think it will all depend on what they do for the rest of their careers, like winning masters 1000 titles or making more slam finals.

I think del Potro leads the remembrance race at the moment, because he's been a threat to the top 10 longer than Wawrinka has been.

Del Potro by far. The way he just blasted Federer and Nadal off the court with big man tennis was an unprecedented feat. Del Potro was the first man who could beat Federer by overpowering him. Wawrinka's win is hampered by the fact he played an injured Nadal in the final.

Delpo by miles and miles, more titles, hes winning the H2H with stan and has been much more competitive when playing the top 4.
How short some of your memorys are. Nadal owns Stan.

Delpo blasted Nadal, not Fed. Nadal won 6 games, while it was a 5 setter with 2 tie breaks against Fed.

Fed was the better player in 4 out of the 5 sets.

That said, as on date Delpo is way ahead in overall accomplishment. Slam achievements are not very different. Stan has wins over Murray. Other than that USO, Delpo does not have big wins.

Delpo...First because both his victories were consecutive. And 6-2 6-2 6-2 is something magical.
Stan's 1st against Rafa was one of the best shotmaking sets I've ever seen. But he could not keep the same level (perhaps affected by Rafa's injury) later.

Doesn't that make AO 14 even more memorable?

Of course Del Potro. He's been a threat for a long time whereas Stan had been seen as a solid but must-win opponent for the big 4 until last year.

it doesnt count, Nadal was injured in both his matches against them.

Del Potro is Nalbandian 2.0

His presence would have altered the last several years immensely. He had the tools to win at every Slam and certainly compete on hard courts.

That 2009 U.S. Open run was devastating. He beat the 1st, 3rd, 16th and 24th ranked players to get that trophy and although two of his three set victories against Roger had to go to tiebreak, Federer came in at 4-0 in tiebreaks prior to that match.

If Del Potro never wins another Slam, he'll be remembered as a glaring outlier and a talented one at that in the 05-12 period where the big 3 won everything.
