His over grip is higher up than normal...but I do like the new PJ. But would've liked something a bit more classic. Or maybe just not black. Seems all new racquets are black based regardless brand.

In previous, not-so-closeup pics, PJ hearkens back to the Super RD Tour, with maybe a dash of 2001-era Pure Control Swirly. Liking what I'm seeing so far, purely from aesthetics. Up close is another story. Kind of building on the Tour F PJ.

Never really liked the orange prior...hard to go wrong with black & red, IMHO.

How?

Everyone's doing a black with offset color now. Prestige pros are on second gen of this style. Last gen tour g was orange. PS black with red. Pure Aero black and yellow. Blades black and green.
Black and green, black and yellow, black and red… All of these look fine, but a glossy black and orange just looks weird to me… Can't say why though.

Huh. I actually dig it compared to the others.
I really dislike black and green, and black and red feels a little cliche. I dig the black and yellow though.

Yeah...I was in the middle of posting that I don't find it strange at all. I like it. I think it just gets a little awkward when the orange is too prominent. Mostly black with some orange looks great. SLightly off topic but I really wanted to get a road bike in a similar paint scheme. As for the racquet, curious as to what the specs will be. Picked up a dr98 for my birthday but I wouldn't mind giving the 310g version a try. Assuming they stick with the 310g and the 330g versions.

That thing is sick

Should have done the WTF outfit color Black and Pink. This pj is the worst in all current Yonex. Especially consider Tour F and XT Prestige looks so similar with this, oh the Burn FST too. The all Orange sticks out much more.

I like em and in person they look great - there is also green in there
How much does the G weights? 300g vs 320g of HG? I didn't hear good things about Spin G 1.25.

I see shared holes too, so they must change the string pattern. Is it still 16x20 tho?

Black and orange is a strange combo IMO…

"Proudly waves old Mount Penn's banner, black and orange fair"

The team colors for the high school my parents graduated from, and I attended for most of 7th grade, were black and orange. As with many institutions related to my youth, that school no longer exists. I like the colors on Stan's stick.

10.6 oz is around 300g not 310g.
Could you check the weight again?
Just like the other 310's about 330 (~11.64 oz) strung I'm sure of it. If the headsize and string pattern are basically the same, the static weights will be basically the same for the 310 and 330. The 310 with a leather grip and some tape under the bumper (~10g) is muy bien.

I have no idea why you quoted me. I asked which weight is correct...
Gavna wrote that the racquet is 310g/10.6oz unstrung. But 10.6oz is around 300g not 310g.
Furthermore he wrote that the racquet strung weighs 11.2 oz which is 317.5 grams. Since the racquets are strung with poly it's safe to assume the weight of the strings are about 16g that makes the most probable weight of the racquet 300g unstrung. That is for the lighter version which is from a different mold since it has a 100 sq. inch headsize.

Looks like the good old vcore 95d with a new PJ to me.

Also those strings don't look the least bit orange.

Maybe this is one of those Gold/Blue Black white dress things.

Either way, he's not the only one sporting a "new frame" with a fake paint job at the IPTL. Nadal has the pure aero pj on his apd.
The PJ's colour scheme reminds me of a Yonex badminton racquet from several years ago:

The orange looked pretty good imo... was great for marketing and sales because the color really stood out when Stan was playing

My typo you are right. On the frame the G is listed as 300g / 10.6 oz - when I weighed it strung on my scale it is 11.2 oz. balance on the frame is listed as 320mm

The HG listed as 330g/11.6oz, Balance is posted as 310mm
No worries! I assumed it was a mistake. Happens to everyone. Some posters however can't recognize a little typo when they see one (cough auto)

I thought this was the new fed frame? When he switches to yonex? I mean based off all the TT talk of low swingweight=max racquet head speed=more spin... I thought he read this and realized not only was his SW too high, but his racquet head size was way too big. Also going to switch to kevlar strings too.

LOL! And the flex on this racquet would be quite amazing. :D

Spoke to the rep a few days ago. He said its basically the same specs. But it is a different string pattern. Still 16x20 but it have some shared holes. You can notice them in the picture above. Stan will be using it at the AO but wont be released until march.

Are you sure Stan will switch? Pro players are very sensitive and hardly except new ideas/gear. They basically have used the same "configuration" since their junior category.

The frame looks awesome!

Just a thought about Yonex though...I've tried a few of their sticks and I've always liked them but I think they suffer from releasing too many sticks. It's difficult to keep track of all their rackets, this will be Stan's third PJ in as many years.

What part? The shared holes? It in the picture. The release date? March does seem a long way but it definitely wont be out until after the AO

Now whether or not Stan actually uses it I don't know. But he'll have a paint job.

BTW new shoes out in the US Jan 25.

I guess yonex is taking lessons from Head. Stan's sticks are glossy while the retail are matte. Another genius move

He's not switching from the 95d. Not after winning two majors with it.

Have you checked the RAs? I've tested both frames - they were both nice to hit with.

I haven't........had to test the new Heads, Dunlops and Pacific (X force - pro no.1) the past week........planning on playing all week with the Duel HG all next week again....I love it very nice frame - NOT a huge fan of the YY tour spin string - gave that a shot and now going to try some Solinco Hyper G
