Wawrinka's legacy....

Legend
Where would you rank his legacy?

He has:

1 GS 2 SFs 5 QFs.
2 WTF SFs
1 Master 2 Finals
1 Davis Cup
Doubles Gold
9 Titles

How does he fare against other GS winners?

Can he be a potential Hall of Famer (or he already is)?

he is a doofus. of course he is HOF though HOF means nothing in tennis, 1 slam + any other pronounceable accomplishment gets you in

He just lost to freaking Robin Haase (a fellow countryman of mine as well). That is a rather embarrassing mark on his career in my opinion.

In any case, if the AO2014 remains his only slam (and I think it will), I don't think he'll be remembered any more than a lot of one-time only slam winners. Less than Del Potro I think. Winning a masters title isn't going to change much, and outside of that one AO2014, he is solid but not very spectacular in his results, still generally losing to the top players even if he makes it close. So I don't think there will be much of a legacy. Nevertheless, his career is very successful and he's a very powerful tennis player with a huge backhand, that's what I'll remember him for.

Also, I fear that people will remember that AO more as the one that got away from Nadal to win title no. 2 there, especially if he never wins another one, and that's looking quite likely now.

HoF means nothing.
Of course he'll get in.

His legacy was showing Novak how it is in 2014, and also winning Olympic doubles and DC.

His legacy? Being called a "crybaby" by Mirka Federer? That may end up being the pinnacle of his career.

He always has been and always will be an inconsistent player and will almost inevitably be a one-slam winning champion. I don't think he really aspires to be anything else. I think he is fine with it all.

I am not sure if he will end up in the HOF or not. He doesn't really deserve to be there IMO.

The HoF is a joke though, it's just a list of guys who have won slams run by some casino guys who are honored to have washed-up Hewitt in their annual grass 250.

Stan has a very strong peak level of play, and him making Nadalovic trolls sniffle at AO 2014 was a beautiful thing.
