The Olympics is so scorned these days that Brisbane, which could never get anywhere near holding the event, just sailed effortlessly into holding the 2032 version.

It's become so expensive to host these days that the world's top cities have been shiiing away from bidding. Has Brisbane come into some money?

Olympics shouldn’t even exist for non niche Olympic sports. Like baseball. What the US does is just send minor leaguers lol. They used to send college kids, not sure if they still do. That is best practice. It’s kind of a slap in the face that they take a sport that gives you an opportunity to win it all every year and then add on their little 4 year award. Don’t compare it to the World Cup cuz that is a part of soccer, not an add on from a third party. I used to have a pretty different opinion on this and considered the Olympics a very high achievement in tennis. I still do, but I think the circumstances are BS
