We don’t talk about Barbora Krejčíková enough

Fabresque

Legend
Seriously. She’s an all time great of our sport.

12 slams, all dispersed among the 3 categories (2 singles, 7 doubles, 3 mixed doubles).

Former World No.1 in doubles. Highest ranking No.2 in singles.

Doubles career super slam (All 4 majors, Olympic Gold, and Tour Finals).

She and partner Katerina Siniakova are also the only team pairing to have claimed this achievement.

She has also completed the surface sweep on the junior tour as well (w/ Siniaková), winning Wimbledon, Roland Garros, and the U.S. Open.

Up there with some of the greatest competitors the sport has seen.

You needed to Google and copy-paste her name, it's obvious because of the diacritics. Doesn't seem so respectful

Honestly true, was going to post about her earlier on the US Open thread! She could do a very rare thing and win both Wimbledon and the US Open, something that hasn’t happened on the womens side since Serena in 2012. She’d still only be ranked as high as #4. She’s a fantastic player who I’ve loved following. She’s had a drop in form and injuries of late but her Wimbledon win was fantastic.

One of my favourites to watch! Already a HOF contender.

She has been a lot of fun to watch in recent years with her variety, smooth and fluid hitting, disguise on her shots, angles, slice and volleying. And I like her return of serve, with her ability take the ball early and hit deep.

She has certainly been incredibly dangerous when 'under the radar' during her career.

She won her 2021 RG title as an unseeded player.

She won her 2022 Ostrava title as an unseeded player, beating Rybakina and then Swiatek (who had won her last 10 finals) in an exceptionally high quality final.

She won her 2023 Dubai title as an unseeded player, beating the 7th seed Kasatkina, 12th seed Kvitova, 2nd seed Sabalenka, 3rd seed Pegula and top seed Swiatek.

She won her recent Wimbledon title as the no. 31 seed, beating Collins, Ostapenko and Rybakina en-route to the final.

I'd say we don't talk about WTA enough, period. There were about 100+ threads about Alcaraz/Djokovic the day of the Wimbledon final. Not more than 1 about Krejcikova/Paolini. Sad but true. Very few people care about women here, unfortunately. This isn't as noticeable on some other forums, thankfully.

I feel the same about Krejcikova. She's one of the rare players I truly support. I'll always remember her Dubaï run, when she successively beat the world number 15, 8, 3, 2 and 1 (Kvitova, Kasatkina, Pegula, Sabalenka, Swiatek). She is also the only player with a positive H2H against Swiatek in finals.

They talk more about WTA on Reddit…

Bara plays smart, efficient tennis, is tactically one of the smartest female tennis players today and has excellent reading of the game. Even when she faces hitter players, Bara can force her game on them.
