When I am looking at a specific shoe model or racquet, there is no easy way to get back to the brand or other colors for the model, you could add bread crumbs or other links to get back. I still don’t like the new design, but as you won’t change it back, I’m trying to offer user-based feedback.

I open stuff like that in a new tab. When done, just close the tab and you still have the original tab there. You can also use multiple windows, but that can clutter up a page quickly.

yep - I get and can do that, but I didn’t have to before, and a website should be intuitive enough that you shouldn’t have to do things like open a new tab or window to keep your place in navigation; they’ll take action or not, just trying to provide feedback.
