It's not even the wedding of the decade. Forget about the century.
No one knows Nadal outside of tennis. Even a lot of tennis non-Nadal fans, don't know he's getting married.
His girl friend who has been living with him for 14 years, is also not a known figure.
This wedding has very little importance. 99.5% of the world population won't even know about it.
So it's barely even wedding of the year...

No matter what the topic is, this Djoko fan (quoted) is trying to belittle Rafa.

As a tennis fan, what wedding is bigger to you? It is the only wedding I have ever been interested in except Feds and personal friends weddings.

It is kind of cool in my opinion, both have waited a long time, will be a cool event.

The truth is that as TennisFans we care about tennis and what the players do on court. Not in their personal life UNLESS it relates to tennis.
All non-tennis off court activities are their business and they can do what they want.

Lot of tennis players get married: Fed, Novak, Berdych, Robin etc etc. There is no point in hyping it up. The OP said it's the wedding of the century. Isn't that absurd?
We need to keep things in perspective: these are multimillionaires who have been wildly successful compared to even what most guys like us can dream about. So why obsess over their personal life? Tennis is a game - just entertainment at the end of the day. And I know as fans we have our favorites, and get invested in them, but it should not reach into non-tennis stuff.
Also again, the OP is a guy (I believe) - which is super weird - for a guy to fuss over a wedding.

Gorgeous couple

Dat jawline, doe.

I've never quite managed to put my finger on the appeal of his looks.

Rafa is obviously a good looking bloke, but he doesn't really have all of the features and facial proportions which are generally associated with a "classically handsome" man.

— Hey, man, wanna something to drink?

— Your suggestion just reminded me of how PATHETIC Nadal was playing at this year’s US Open. Choked multiple times against Berrettini, let Schwartzman come back from 2 breaks down TWICE, was absolutely PATHETIC in the final against Medvedev, his first serve % was just 62. Anyone who says Nadal was at his best is a lier, my master Nole, who won 4 out of 6 last Slams, and is the favorite at all 4 Grand Slams in 2020, would have BAGELED Nadal in the final. Nadal had a TERRIBLE season, and 2 Slams won’t change that.

Because he's not classically handsome, though still very cute and attractive. There's an enormous difference between a classically handsome man and Rafa, and here is this concept illustrated to perfection:

It means that Rafa has successfully kept his personal life out of the spotlight. Rafa has not publicly announced his wedding date, he has not made public his marriage plans. He wasn't pleased when the Spanish celebrity Magazine “Hola!” found out at the beginning of this year that he was getting married in autumn.
He has refused to answer journalists' questions about his wedding. He has politely replied : "I know you are doing your job, but I won't say you anything."

Well done, Rafa ! (y)

I'm not sure who that guy in the top picture is. He looks like a protagonist from a cheesy, American, 1980s straight-to-video movie.
