Anyone know what happened to Drogba?

I take back what I said about Terry. I was just really upset, too upset to use logic.
Anyway, my Man of the Match definitely goes to Frank Lampard. He was just dynamic in the second half. I also thought Essien was VERY good in the second half. He's a class act, that one. And Ballack looked pretty good too. Hopefully he's going to be back next year and bring the form that saw him dominate against United a few weeks ago week in week out.
As for Drogba, he's an excellent player but I don't expect to see him in CHELSEA blue next season. I expect him to be in INTER blue (and black) next season.
And did anyone hear about Lampard to Inter? Supposedly it's a done deal, but who cares? It's not going to happen.
And finally, when is Mourinho going to come out of hiding and tell us where he's going to be next year?

He's not a likable guy, thats why I like him. Why should he be, so that people do not feel thretned by his superiority ? He's surely one of the best footbalers today if not the best. He does not look as effortless as Kaka but has similar amasing skills, good striker, lots of assists and dribbles, penetrating from both sides and the middle, great crosses whatever.

There was grounds for sending off for sure, I think the fact Carvalho is also Portugese helped him. But that was a bad tackle on the leg he was standing on. Leg could've snapped like that.
Kudos to the referee for keeping the match alive, he could have easily shown red to any of the trio we named ( Makelele, Tevez, Carvalho ) .. and much earlier in the match. It would have ruined it, so good job from him.

I agree about Lampard, he was magnificent. He really took the game by the scruff of the neck after Carrick and Scholes had run it for the first 30 mins but he single handedly got us back in to it and the rest of the team joined in there after.
As for Drogba, I really hope he goes. All season he's been talking rubbish and saying he wants to leave, he's getting old and he's part of the reason why we play 4-3-3, lumping the ball up to him which is very limiting. I think we can get £20 Million + for him and that's excellent business.
As for Frank.. I believe his performances against Liverpool in the semi and Man Utd in the final last night will mean he'll be given a new contract, it appears like he wants to stay and he's well loved so I think he'll stay. He's been without doubt the most prolific goal scoring central midfielder in the game over the past 4 years (20+ goals a season is unheard of) so he's irreplaceable, we can't let him leave.
Lol yeah he seemed to punch him and rugby tackle him. I'm sure if an official had seen it he'd of been sent off but to be fair, it is hard to see every incident.
I thought it was strange he booked both Maka and Scholes for the clash of heads near the start aswell lol.. What was all that about?

I think its a preventive measure, to make sure they do not kill eachother there. And on top of that it was not exactly a head clash. Iwe rewind this a few times and Make did brake his nose with an suspiciously intentional elbow, everyone was upset but by far the worse was Carvalho.
I think Ref did a good job of keeping it under control as much as possible.
Unfortunately Chelsea lost and Man. United are the Champions League holders again, but it was so lucky! They didn't deserve to win, only Chelsea was playing at the second half and overtime. Drogba is inexcusable, been snt off in the Champions League final and at his last game with Chelsea. I think that he was nervous because of the poor performance he had....
As for Terry, he was the captain, he decided to take the last penalty and he missed! He has to pay the price now....

Lucky? If it wasn't for Essien's hopeful shot deflecting off two defenders and Van Der Sar slipping, mama's boy Lampard wouldn't have scored and the second half would probably have been a different story.

I was on the setanta site, reading an article about Lampard wanting to begin contract talks on June 2, and there was a comments box at the side and this guy criticised Terry, saying 'so called world class center back' and saying he had no balls, but he took the penalty to win the biggest club trophy in the world, you have to have balls to do that, so many people relying on you.
I like Drogba, but I dont want to see him in Milan next year, if any striker comes to Inter, I wat Kun Aguero, the boy is going to be better than ronaldo (even though they're different positions)

Spot on.
Let's face it, Terry had Van Der Sar going the wrong way so he did everything in his power to score it.. it just happened to be that he slipped at the moment of impact, nobody could predict a thing like that was going to happen.
I agree about Aguero too. I don't think he'll be leaving Atheltico for another year at least but when he does, everyone will be after him.

I never get why so many people like Man United, for me, they have never had ANY appeal whatsoever, I grew up supporting Newcastle in England, probably because they are closest to me.

My own opinion of course but for an outsider(I'm in the US and don't follow football that much), I think ManU is like an easy way out, it's a flashy and commercial team to follow. I have seen the stadium at Old Trafford then watched a match in Wigan, very big difference lol but I was moved more with Wigan and their following, a much smaller club than ManU but when I was there in 2005 Wigan had quite a run at the Premiership. That being said, I like Chelsea and Bolton much better than everyone else.

Growing up there wasn't too much football on tv but when there was, more often than not it was Man Utd who were playing and winning so I think that had something to do with it. I was lucky my Dad would never of let me support anyone else so there was never really any issue to jump on the bandwagon for me.
I remember in the mid-to-late '90's they brought buckets round at the end of the game for donations to save Stamford Bridge, also in 2003 we had to beat Liverpool on the last day of the season to get in the Champions League and save the club from going into administration, if Gronkjaer hadn't of scored it could of been us where Leeds are now but he scored, Abramovich came that summer, and the rest's history.

Whel ManU could have scored a couple easily also. Its not only the woodwork. Clearence of the line from Terry and couple consecutive saves from Ronaldo I think and Carrick as a follow up, amasing from Cech. They had a fair share of chances. Tevez's header and once he missed a open goal because he was half step behind ?
In some crazy lucky game it could have been 4 - 0 to ManU or 1 - 4 to Chelsey but I do not give the edge to any of them in that match. They equaly deserved to win but there's always going to be just one winner, is it ?
...And in other news, Jose Mourinho has decided to take over Inter Milan, according to multiple sources. Word going around is that he texted none other than Essien asking him to come join him at Inter. Supposedly, Inter will officially reveal Mourinho as their new boss on Monday. This summer is going to be VERY interesting.
Oh, and is the summer transfer window open yet, like officially? I thought it was open already but I guess most big signings are made in June and from then on...

Inter play my kind of football, and the meazza was the first stadium I ever saw in Italy, not to mention the area I lived in was an Inter area, I support Inter because thats where I was, I like their style and I like the players, Im thinking about a season ticket in the 09/19 season, you cang et one in the Curva del nord for 200 euros. Aother reason is that the fans are some of the most passionate in the world, if not the best fans in the world. This was before Inter started wining too, 2004.

There were reports in the morning papers of Mourinho and Abramovich having positive meetings over the past 6 weeks, showing signs that the relationship is being repaired between the two, and also other board members. One highly placed source in the club also stated that Mourinho returning as manager HAD been discussed which spices things up a bit. I also find it interesting how Mourinho has been quoted as saying Chelsea were very unlucky to lose the final and that they were the better team (how man times has he said something like that since he left? Only a few months back he was saying how he wanted to "kill" Chelsea). It could be seen as him giving a subtle reminder that he's got Chelsea in his blood and would consider returning, he's always said he'd like to come back at some point in the future as we have a special place in his heart so there could be some truth in it all.
Another thing worth mentioning is that he's treated like a God here and he has a big ego, i'm sure he wouldn't complain at being rejoined with his adoring fans AND players (which he has said he wants to buy if he joins another club, he'd already have them if he came back to Chelsea.)
Also! He still has a house in England which he loves and so do his family, he has the amazing relationship with the media.. Not to mention the 8 months that have passed have meant the lessons of where things went wrong first time can be rectified with Abramovich knowing he has to fully back his manager on players he wants etc...
I think it all comes down to how two proud men would accept they made mistakes and learn from them. That's the major sticking point.

Mancini seems ok but he doesn't really have much competition in Italy and he's always failed badly in Europe so i'm not so sure he's the right man at the moment.
Is he not? Friends of his said it's very likely he'll be back at Chelsea sometime in the future, probably after his time in Italy but him returning one day is very possible.
Also one time Mourinho and Abramovich met up, Roman brought Jose a £2 Million 4 seater Ferrari... what you think about that?

Also he is one of Frank Lampards best friends and helped him write his autobiography.
I think Abramovich has learnt he has to let his manager deal with all the football related problems and there have been rumours of Arnesen being sacked anyway as he isn't producing the calibre of young players that the club need.

Other clubs should want him only if he's proved himself. I'm not sure he's done that, but he seems like a genuinely nice guy and I wish him well for the future.
And the latest word is that Ancelotti (sp?) is going to take over, after leaving Milan. He knows a thing or two about European success, but would that also mean he'd bring in guys that are 35+ years old?

Yeah it looks like he's already been interviewed, he's done great in his career so far and he is only 39 so it wouldn't be the worst move.
I still want Jose back as the number 1 priority though but it looks like Mancini has been sacked this evening so I think he'll be installed as Inter manager in the next few days.
Seconds choice would be Hughes, he grew up as a Chelsea fan, was a Chelsea legend in his time here, and also he would bring back Kevin Hitchcock as goalkeeper coach and there have been rumours of Zola coming back as assistant manager. That would be amazing.
If Jose does go to Inter and Hughes stays at Blackburn then Rijkaard would be third choice for me, but it is a distant third.

He's had bust ups with half the team and what manager in his right mind would come to a club with the old assistant manager still there? He'd want to bring in his own men so he'd have to go then anyway.

One thing about Mourinho is that he ALWAYS raids his old clubs for their best players.
If he really is the special one and such a great manager why can't he mold the players he has at his disposal into his players?
If he does end up with Essien, Cole, Lampard, Carvalho, Drogba (who's to say he won't try to get even more?) then isn't he essentially just buying half the Chelsea team?

He has helped mould those players into who they are today, you sound bitter that he decided against a move back to chelsea, and he has said he will only sign 2 - 3 new players

I doubt it, he'll be working with what he has and looking to players who he needs, not who he likes.
