Week of 04/04/22: ATP 250 Houston (clay) and ATP 250 Marrakesh (clay)

Winner?

  • Total voters
    17
  • Poll closed .
Could be. It’s not actually clay, it’s red brick dust.

I don't see why Americans just can't get some Red bricks from the construction sites and crush those and make the clay courts,,, and Wlala,, you have Red clay courts just like french open..........

Wow Fritz just keeps hitting it hard with some control and Garin makes the errors.....

Yet another error from Garin !!!!!!!!;

Will Garin play Isner or Tiafoe? Which will make it to the semis?

LOL.. Garin said he only eats at Whole foods for dinner at this tournament................ is he poor or something ?? That whole foods stuff is NOT good. i hated it. not even for lunch

Nice to see Goffin make it to a final! Will it be Molcan or Djere tomorrow? I think Molcan....

Looking at those choices for the votes, I am amused. Felix got almost 50% of the voters and gone with the wind. We've forgotten the clay specialists like Molcan.

Opelka won the first set 6-4 and they are on serve 4-5 with Opelka serving to stay in the second set...

Opelka wins in 2 sets over Kyrgios.

Garin vs Isner in the other semi - I prefer Garin...

It's quite insane what happens nowadays..

umpires and linejudges ROUTINELY overstep their role.

Garin hits literally a textbook serve, and gets a foot fault down BP against Isner which could now turn the match...

its just absurd.

And then the umpire has absolutely no fine feel for the situation and says stuff like "he is one of the most experienced linejudges, he wouldnt call it without reason" blah blah, "this conversation is over", "the foot fault happened, he called it". How does he say the foot fault happened?

And then he even gives him a warning for time violation.

Garin did delay the match. That's a time violation.

I watched the highlights. I cannot believe that foot fault call on Garin. That was not clear at all and on break point? Someone wanted an all American final. And the thing is, it probably could have happened anyway. It's not like Garin was destined to beat Isner; he wasn't blowing through him or anything.

Marrakesh goes to Goffin pretty well. I really thought Molcan was on his way to break at duce when it was 4:3 Goffin. Hm, the better player won today

Wow, Goffin showing some form at long last! Wins his 6th ATP title (5th at 250 level) and 1st since 2021 Montpellier.

What's suddenly motivated him to start winning titles again??
