Weight on front or back foot? square/neutral vs. semi-open

tennisstancesright.gif

Right now, I mostly use open stance.
When I unit turn, my foot does not automatically go in front (squared/neutral)
For FH, I am really reaching my loose arm across so my shoulders are fully turned.
For BH, I get a decent shoulder turn since 2HBH.
I gave up on the feet, since at least I am getting a shoulder turn and not doing nippples to the net.
(By the way, can an admin change my forum name to "NipplesToTheNet" ? Thank you in advance.)
I've been trying to force myself to do semi-open when I have time on a slow ball.

The problem is that I think my weight is on the wrong foot.
Another habit I might need to drill for a few months to break?

Before you swing, do you prefer weight be on front or back foot?

I use all of them. While I try to use open and semi open, positioning while moving doesn't work like that for me, so I hit neutral and closed, and a lot of times off my back foot while chasing down a heavy/fast ball. Of course I prefer to be moving weight forward on a stroke, but for me that just doesn't happen as often as I would like when things get moving.

I'm talking in a slow paced rally when you have all the time in the world.
Or if the ball was frozen in the air like T-ball, where would your weight be?

If you wish to hit it hard, weight needs to be on your back foot to start forward.

In countering you'd want to lean forward and get to your front foot early.
